The 1996 International Formula 3000 Championship was contested over ten rounds from 11 May to 12 October 1996. This was the first F3000 season in which every team had the same chassis, engine and tyres. Team Astromega
Team Astromega was a racing team from Belgium, headquartered in Heist-op-den-Berg and created in 1995 by Mikke Van Hool. The team competed in A1 Grand Prix and Formula Renault 1.6 Belgium. History Team Astromega was created in 1995 by Belgian International Formula 3000 driver Mikke Van Hool, who wanted to drive in his own team. Since 1996, Sam Boyle has been the team manager. Esteban Eduardo Tuero (born 22 April 1978) is an Argentine former racing driver who raced in Formula One for the Minardi team in 1998. At 19, he became the then-third-youngest (now eighth youngest) Formula One driver in history when he landed his seat alongside Shinji Nakano, but left the championship at the end of the season. Early life Esteban Eduardo Tuero was born at a time when the likes of Nelson Piquet and Alain Prost were just beginning their careers. The Argentine Grand Prix was based near to his home, at the Oscar Gálvez race circuit. Ricardo Luiz Zonta (born March 23, 1976) is a Brazilian professional racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series, driving the No. 10 Toyota Corolla E210 for RCM Motorsport. International Draco Racing was a motorsport team. It was most well known for operating in the World Series by Renault, but had also taken part in Formula Opel Lotus, International Formula 3000 and Euro Formula 3000. Christian Pescatori is a professional racecar driver from Italy. He was born in Brescia, on 1 December 1971. Pescatori started his career in single-seater racing, becoming Italian Formula 3 Champion in 1993, before moving up to Formula 3000. He later moved on to sports car racing, where he had more success. Jörg Müller (, ; born 3 September 1969) is a Dutch-born German BMW factory driver. Racing career Born in Kerkrade, Netherlands, Müller won the titles in 1989 German Formula Opel Lotus Challenge and in 1989 European Formula Ford 1600. Oliver Tichy
Oliver Tichy (born 6 May 1975) is an Austrian former racing driver from Vienna. After a successful youth karting career, Tichy moved to the German Formula Ford championship in 1992 and to the EFDA Formula Ford 1600 Championship in 1993 where he finished fifth. In 1993 he also raced in Formula Ford 1800 Germany, winning three times. In 1994 he made his professional debut in the German Formula Three Championship, however, he only scored 5 points and finished 24th in the championship. In 1995 he stayed in German F3 but switched from Volkswagen to Opel and improved to 11th in points.
