1995–96 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 1995–96 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 26th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 30 September 1995 and ended on 17 March 1996. Birr of Offaly were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify after being defeated in the Offaly Senior Championship. On 17 March 1996, Sixmilebridge won the championship after a 5–10 to 2–06 defeat of Dunloy in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. It remains their only championship title. Sixmilebridge's Gerry McInerney was the championship's top scorer with 5–15. Tooreen Hurling Club
Tooreen Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Tooreen, County Mayo, Ireland. Tooreen is located in the parish of Aghamore approximately four miles (6.4 km) from the town of Ballyhaunis in eastern County Mayo which is the county's hurling stronghold. Players are drawn from the Tooreen area as well as from the Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, Kilkelly and Knock areas. The club is affiliated as an Exclusive Hurling Club to the Mayo County Board. History The club was formed in 1957 and celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2007. The club won its first Mayo Senior Hurling Championship Title in 1966 and is the holder of 30 county senior titles and is the current (2019) champion. Dundalk
Dundalk ( ; ga, Dún Dealgan ), meaning "the fort of Dealgan", is the county town (the administrative centre) of County Louth, Ireland. The town is on the Castletown River, which flows into Dundalk Bay on the east coast of Ireland. It is halfway between Dublin and Belfast, close to the border with Northern Ireland. Knockbridge
Knockbridge () is a village in County Louth, Ireland. It is located in the townland of Ballinlough (''Baile an Locha'') in the historical barony of Dundalk Upper. As of the 2016 census, the village had a population of 667 people. Knockbridge won a "best kept village" award in the 2008 Tidy Towns competition. Facilities The village is centred on a crossroads, where there is a pub and a shop. There are four housing estates, a Roman Catholic church and a large primary school in the village. Stephenstown House, a large ruined Georgian house, once owned by a branch of the Fortescue family, stands beside the River Fane about a mile outside the village. Stephenstown Pond, about a hundred metres from the house, was redeveloped in the mid-1990s and is a public amenity. Stephenstown Pond has a conference centre and an community enterprise space. Knockbridge GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Knockbridge, County Louth, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Founded in 1999, the club is solely concerned with the game of hurling. The club has won 12 Louth Senior Hurling Championship titles. History After hurling was first introduced to the Knockbridge area in 1984, Knockbridge Juvenile Hurling Club was established the following year. A number of under-12 and under-14 titles were secured over the next few years. An adult section of the juvenile club was founded on 12 November 1998. Knockbridge Hurling Club was eventually affiliated at the first County Committee meeting on 4 January 1999. Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion senior clubs in the province of Leinster in Ireland. It is the most prestigious club competition in Leinster hurling. Introduced in 1971, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open to all 12 county senior champions from the 1970 championship season. The competition is currently limited to the eight champion club teams from the strongest hurling counties in Leinster.
