1994 Allan Cup
The 1994 Allan Cup was the Canadian national senior ice hockey championship for the 1993–94 Senior "AAA" season. The event was hosted by the Warroad Lakers in Warroad, Minnesota. The 1994 tournament marked the 86th time that the Allan Cup has been awarded. The 1994 Allan Cup was a very strange year for Canadian Senior hockey. The 1994 Allan Cup marked the first time the Allan Cup round robin was hosted by an American city, although four Allan Cup playoff finals had previously been hosted in the US. It was also the fifth time in 86 championships that the Cup was won by an American team. In another strange turn of events, possibly in protest of the venue, no teams from Eastern Canada participated in the event. Senior Ice Hockey
Senior hockey refers to amateur or semi-professional ice hockey competition. There are no age restrictions for Senior players, who typically consist of those whose Junior eligibility has expired. Senior hockey leagues operate under the jurisdiction of Hockey Canada or USA Hockey. They are not affiliated in any way with professional hockey leagues. Many former professional players play Senior hockey after their pro careers are over. The top Senior AAA teams in Canada compete annually for the Allan Cup. Warroad Lakers
The Warroad Lakers were an American Senior ice hockey team from Warroad, Minnesota. The Lakers played in various Manitoba AHA and Thunder Bay AHA senior and intermediate leagues and were granted special eligibility for the Allan Cup and Hardy Cup by the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association. The Lakers were three-time Allan Cup Canadian National Champions, one-time Allan Cup National Finalists, one-time Hardy Cup Canadian National Champions, and one-time Hardy Cup National Finalists. Warroad, Minnesota
Warroad is a city in Roseau County, Minnesota, Roseau County, Minnesota, United States, at the southwest corner of Lake of the Woods, south of Canada–United States border, Canada. Allan Cup
The Allan Cup is the trophy awarded annually to the national senior amateur men's ice hockey champions of Canada. It was donated by Sir Montagu Allan of Ravenscrag, Montreal, and has been competed for since 1909. The current champions are the Lacombe Generals, who captured the 2019 Allan Cup in Lacombe, Alberta. Stony Plain Eagles
The Stony Plain Eagles are a senior ice hockey team based in Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada. Founded in the 1930s, the team moved up to the Senior AAA ranks in 1992. They played in the Allan Cup Hockey West until 2020. The Eagles were the 1999 Allan Cup National Senior champions of Canada. History In 1987, the Eagles would win both the Alberta and Western Canada Intermediate "A" Championship, but lost the Hardy Cup Intermediate National Championship in straight games to Miramichi Gagnon Packers.
