Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. A new competition was named Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was founded by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) in 1998, only open to European competitors. Originally it was called the European Under-21 Championship (from 1977-1987) but changed its name in 1988 when it was made open to all nations. Grzegorz Rempala
Grzegorz (“Greg”) A. Rempala ( pl, Rempała; born March 19, 1968) is a Polish-American applied mathematician who works on the theory and applications of complex stochastic systems. Biography Rempala studied mathematics at the University of Warsaw from 1987 to 1991, and worked at the Computer Science Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences from 1991 to 1992. In 1992 he moved to the US where in 1996 he completed his PhD thesis at Bowling Green State University. His advisor was Prof. Arjun K Gupta. Ben Howe (speedway Rider)
Benjamin George Howe (born 6 December 1974) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. He earned eight international caps for the England national speedway team. Speedway career Howe reached the final of the British Speedway Championship on three occasions in 1994, 1995 and 1996. He was also the British Under 21 Champion and a World Under 21 finalist. Marián Jirout
Marián Jirout (born 23 July 1976 in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia) is a former motorcycle speedway from the Czech Republic. Career Jirout rode in the 1999 Speedway Grand Prix. In Britain, he raced with the Peterborough Panthers for five seasons from 1995 to 2001. Following a car accident in January 2003 he was almost left paralysed but he eventually recovered. In October 2007, during the Zlatá přilba race in Pardubice, he broke three vertebrae in a fall and decided to end career of rider. Stefan Ekberg (born 21 January 1972 in Motala, Sweden) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career Ekberg is a full Swedish international, making his debut in 1994. He previously rode in the UK for the Oxford Cheetahs and the Eastbourne Eagles, where he won the Elite League Championship in 1995. He returned to the British Premier League with the Glasgow Tigers after a ten-year absence in 2005. Adam Łabędzki (born 22 September 1972) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 3 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Łabędzki started his speedway career with Unia Leszno during the 1989 Polish speedway season. He spent his first seven Polish leagues seasons with the club and helped them win the Team Speedway Polish Championship during his debut season.
