1991–92 QMJHL Season
The 1991–92 QMJHL season was the 23rd season in the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The league inaugurates the Molson Cup, awarded to the overall "Rookie of the Year," in addition to the existing Michel Bergeron Trophy and Raymond Lagacé Trophy. The top three scorers in the league, are all linemates from the Saint-Hyacinthe Laser. Centreman Charles Poulin won the QMJHL's Most Valuable Player and CHL Player of the Year. Completing the line were; left winger Patrick Poulin, the league's scoring champion; and right winger Martin Gendron, the league's Most sportsmanlike player and Offensive Player of the Year. The league went back to the players wearing a half visor. Twelve teams played 70 games each in the schedule. Season (sports)
In an organized sports league, a typical season is the portion of one year in which regulated games of the sport are in session: for example, in Major League Baseball the season lasts approximately from the last week of March to the last week of September. In other team sports, like association football or basketball, it is generally from August or September to May although in some countries - such as Northern Europe or East Asia - the season starts in the spring and finishes in autumn, mainly due to weather conditions encountered during the winter. Shawinigan Cataractes
The Shawinigan Cataractes (french: Cataractes de Shawinigan) are a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The team is based in Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada. The Cataractes have been previously known as the Shawinigan Bruins until 1973, and were called the Shawinigan Dynamos from 1973 to 1978. The Cataractes play their home games at the Centre Gervais Auto. The former home of the team was Aréna Jacques Plante. Over the course of their 43-year history, they did not win any League championships or Memorial Cups until they were chosen to host the 2012 Memorial Cup tournament, as they became only the second team to play in the tie-breaker and win in overtime in front of a sellout hometown crowd. Marc Rodgers (born March 16, 1972) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played 21 games in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings during the 1999–00 season. Granby Bisons
The Granby Bisons were a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Granby, Quebec, and played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). They team was founded in 1981 in after the team moved from Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, where they had previously been known as the Sorel Éperviers. The Bisons played at Arena Leonard Grondin in Granby. Laval Titan
The Laval Titan was one of the names used by a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) franchise that played in Laval, Quebec, Canada, between 1971 and 1998. History The Rosemont National began in the 1969–70 QMJHL season as one of the founding franchises of the QMJHL, playing in the Montreal borough of Rosemont, Quebec at the Paul Sauvé Arena. After only two seasons in Rosemont the team moved to Laval, Quebec, where they would play the next 27 years under several names. Laval National was the team's original name, but they were renamed the Laval Voisins (meaning neighbours) in 1979, and then the Titan ("Titans") in 1985. During the 1983-1984 season, Laval won their first QMJHL championship. The Gatineau Olympiques are a major junior ice hockey team based in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, that plays in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
