1990 NBL Finals
The 1990 NBL Finals was the championship series of the 1990 season of Australia's National Basketball League (NBL) and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Perth Wildcats defeated the Brisbane Bullets in three games (2-1) for their first NBL championship. Format The 1990 National Basketball League Finals started on 26 September and concluded on 28 October. The playoffs consisted of two best of three Elimination finals, two best of three Semi-finals and the best of three game Grand Final series. As the two top teams at the end of the regular season, the North Melbourne Giants and Eastside Spectres both qualified for home court advantage during the Semi-finals. The Sydney Kings are an Australian men's professional basketball team competing in the National Basketball League (NBL). The team is based in Sydney, New South Wales. The Kings were formed from a merger between the West Sydney Westars and the Sydney Supersonics in October 1987. Andre Moore
Andre M. Moore (born July 2, 1964), is a retired American-Australian professional basketball player. As a 6 ft 9 in (205 cm) power forward, he played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Denver Nuggets during the 1987–88 season. He also played in Australia for the Brisbane Bullets, Cairns and Krustys. High school Moore played for Carver High School in Chicago, and represented the school at the 1982 Tribune-McDonald's Prep Cage Classic, where his City All-Star team lost to a Suburban All-Star team led by Kevin Duckworth. Moore led the city team with 17 points. Later that year, he was named to the Illinois All-Star team, which defeated Indiana's All-Stars in a game held in Gary, Indiana. Damian Keogh
Damian Thomas Keogh (born 1 February 1962, Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian former professional basketball player who played his career in Australia's National Basketball League for the Nunawading Spectres, Bankstown Bruins, West Sydney Westars and Sydney Kings from 1980–1995. He also represented the Australian team at the 1984, 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympic Games. Mike Ellis (basketball)
Mike Ellis (born 27 July 1958) is an Australian former basketball player who captained the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL) for the club's first 11 seasons, and helped guide them to two championships in 1990 and 1991. Ellis' No. 6 jersey was retired by both the Wildcats and his junior association, the Warwick Senators. Career Perth Wildcats Ellis played his entire NBL career with the Perth Wildcats, beginning with the club in their inaugural season in 1982 and captained the side every year until his final season in 1992. He helped the team win championships in 1990 and 1991. In 302 career games, Ellis averaged 12.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game. James Crawford (born April 13, 1960) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the Australian National Basketball League from 1982 to 2003. School Crawford was born in Lower Peach Tree, Alabama, and attended Pine Hill High School in Pine Hill, Alabama. Prior to coming to Australia in 1981, Crawford attended Livingston University and Cumberland College in Kentucky. The Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Centre (originally known as the Swimming and Diving Stadium and now known commercially as the AIA Vitality Centre) is a sports administration and training facility located in the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct in Melbourne, Australia.
