1988–89 Milwaukee Bucks Season
The 1988–89 NBA season was the Bucks' 21st season in the NBA. It was the very first season for the Bucks playing in the Bradley Center, after the team moved there from the Milwaukee Arena, otherwise known as "The Mecca". During the off-season, the team acquired Fred Roberts from the expansion Miami Heat. The Bucks struggled with a 3–4 start to the season, but later on posted a six-game winning streak in January, and held a 30–15 record at the All-Star break. The team finished fourth in the Central Division with a 49–33 record. Del Harris
Delmer William Harris (born June 18, 1937) is an American basketball coach who is currently the vice president of the Texas Legends, the NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. He served as a head coach for the NBA's Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers, as well as the Legends. He was also an assistant coach for the National Basketball Association's New Jersey Nets, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Houston Rockets. Larry Krystkowiak
Larry Brett Krystkowiak ( ; born September 23, 1964) is a retired American professional basketball player, and former head coach of the Utah Utes men's basketball team. Early life He was born in Missoula, Montana, to Bernard and Helen Krystkowiak. At a young age, his mother always encouraged Larry to participate in sports. His mother died of Hodgkin's lymphoma when he was eight years old and his father remarried. He primarily grew up in Shelby, Montana, and his step-mother did not approve of Larry playing sports. At the age of 15, Larry moved out of Shelby and finished his high school career at Big Sky High School in Missoula. Mack Calvin
Mack Calvin (born July 27, 1947) is an American former basketball player. A five-time ABA All-Star, Calvin recorded the second most assists in ABA history, and was later named to the ABA All-Time Team. High school career Calvin was born in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Long Beach Poly in California. College career A 6'0" point guard from Long Beach City College and the University of Southern California, Calvin was a 14th-round draft pick of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers in 1969. Mike Jones (basketball, Born 1967)
Mike Fritzthadus Jones (born February 10, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player. High school career Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Jones was named a First-Team Parade All-American, while at Oak Hill Academy, in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. College career Jones played college basketball at Auburn University, in Auburn, Alabama, with the Auburn Tigers. Professional career Jones was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the third round (63rd pick overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft. Tito Horford
Alfredo William "Tito" Horford (born January 19, 1966) is a Dominican retired professional basketball player who was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round (39th overall) of the 1988 NBA draft. Horford played three years in the National Basketball Association (NBA), two with the Bucks from 1988–1990, and a short stint with the Washington Bullets during the 1993–94 season. He played in Spain in 1992. He was listed on the Bucks' summer 1992 roster. Early years Tito Horford was born in La Romana, Dominican Republic. His father was a Bahamian immigrant. Jeff Grayer
Jeffrey Grayer (born December 17, 1965) is a retired American professional basketball player and collegiate basketball coach. As a shooting guard, Grayer starred at Iowa State University from 1985 to 1988 where he set (and still holds) the all-time career scoring record, with 2,502 points. He was named 3-time all-Big Eight and All-American in 1988. Grayer was a member of the United States 1988 Olympic basketball team and was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft. 1989–90 San Antonio Spurs Season
The 1989–90 NBA season was the Spurs' 14th season in the National Basketball Association, and 23rd season as a franchise. This marked the first NBA season for David Robinson, who was selected by the Spurs as the first overall pick in the 1987 NBA draft. In the 1989 NBA draft, the team had the third overall pick, and selected Sean Elliott from the University of Arizona, and acquired All-Star forward Terry Cummings from the Milwaukee Bucks, and acquired All-Star guard Maurice Cheeks and David Wingate from the Philadelphia 76ers during the off-season. 1988–89 Los Angeles Lakers Season
The 1988–89 Los Angeles Lakers season was the 43rd season of the franchise, 41st in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 29th in Los Angeles. This would also be the final season for All-Star center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. During the off-season, the Lakers signed free agent Orlando Woolridge. The Lakers entered the season as the two-time defending NBA champions. 1989 NBA Finals
The 1989 NBA Finals was the championship round of the 1988–89 National Basketball Association (NBA) season, and the conclusion of the 1989 NBA Playoffs. The series was a rematch of the previous year's championship round between the Eastern Conference playoff champion Detroit Pistons and the defending NBA champion and Western Conference playoff champion Los Angeles Lakers. This, along with the 1983 NBA Finals, were the only two NBA championships of the 1980s not to be won by either the Lakers or the Boston Celtics; every NBA Finals of that decade featured either the Lakers or Celtics, and sometimes both (1984, 1985, 1987). 2000–01 Milwaukee Bucks Season
The 2000–01 NBA season was the Bucks' 33rd season in the National Basketball Association. During the off-season, the Bucks acquired Lindsey Hunter from the Detroit Pistons, acquired Jason Caffey from the Golden State Warriors, acquired top draft pick Joel Przybilla from the Houston Rockets, and signed free agents Jerome Kersey and Mark Pope. The Bucks got off to a rough start losing nine of their first twelve games, but would win 23 of their next 29 games while posting an 8-game winning streak in January, and holding a 29–18 record at the All-Star break. The 1988–89 NBA season was the Hawks' 40th season in the National Basketball Association, NBA and 21st season in Atlanta. After falling into the second round of the playoffs for three straight seasons, the Hawks signed free agent and All-Star forward Moses Malone, and acquired Reggie Theus from the 1987–88 Sacramento Kings season, Sacramento Kings during the off-season.
