Jeff Grayer
Jeffrey Grayer (born December 17, 1965) is a retired American professional basketball player and collegiate basketball coach. As a shooting guard, Grayer starred at Iowa State University from 1985 to 1988 where he set (and still holds) the all-time career scoring record, with 2,502 points. He was named 3-time all-Big Eight and All-American in 1988. Grayer was a member of the United States 1988 Olympic basketball team and was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft. The NBA journeyman played ten years in the league for five different teams. In April 2010, Grayer was hired by Greg McDermott as an assistant men's basketball coach at Iowa State. In August 2010, after McDermott left to take a position at Creighton University he was replaced by new coach Fred Hoiberg. Small Forward
The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. They are strategic and are often relied upon to score, defend, create open lanes, and rebound for their team. The small forward is considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the five main basketball positions as they contribute offensively and defensively. Points in basketball are used to keep track of the score in a game. Points can be accumulated by making field goals (two or three points) or free throws (one point). If a player makes a field goal from within the three-point line, the player scores two points. If the player makes a field goal from beyond the three-point line, the player scores three points. Fred Hoiberg
Fredrick Kristian Hoiberg (born October 15, 1972) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He has served as the men's head basketball coach at the University of Nebraska since 2019. Hoiberg grew up in Ames, Iowa, and played college basketball at Iowa State University in Ames where he earned the nickname "The Mayor". He was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) where, over his ten year career, he played for the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, and Minnesota Timberwolves. After retiring as a player, he served as vice president for basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves before beginning his coaching career at his alma mater, Iowa State University. Greg McDermott
Greg McDermott (born November 25, 1964) is an American basketball coach who has been the head coach of the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team since 2010. Previously, McDermott served as the head coach at Wayne State College, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and Iowa State. He is the father of NBA player Doug McDermott. In American English, a journeyman or journeywoman is an athlete who is technically competent but unable to excel.
