The 1987 Speedway World Pairs Championship was the eighteenth FIM Speedway World Pairs Championship. The final took place in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia. The championship was won by host Denmark (52 points) who beat England (44 points) and United States (36 points). Fédération Internationale De Motocyclisme
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing. FIM is also involved in many non-racing activities that promote the sport, its safety, and support relevant public policy. The FIM is also the first international sporting federation to publish an Environmental Code, in 1994. Roman Jankowski
Roman Jankowski (born 5 October 1957 in Kościan, Poland) is a speedway rider active from 1976 until 2006. He is a former Polish Champion, having won the title in 1981 and again in 1988. Roman has also represented Poland at the World Team Cup. He rode for the Hackney Hawks in 1980 and 1981. Currently he is the youth coach and manager of Unia Leszno. Roman's three sons, Łukasz, Marcin and Norbert are all speedway riders. Arne Svendsen (11 December 1884 – 20 November 1958) was a Norwegian songwriter, actor and revue writer. Career Svendsen was born in Fosnes in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. In 1910, he left home and settled in Fredrikstad, where he first worked as a hairdresser and barber. In 1911, he wrote his first revue for the ''Fredrikstad Arbeiderforening'', followed by five new revues annually until 1920. From 1921, Svendsen was associated with Chat Noir, a cabaret and revue theatre in Oslo. He wrote the revue, ''Midt i planeten'' together with Per Kvist in 1922. He also collaborated with songwriter Finn Bo (1927–36). From 1937 he worked with teams of various revue writers including Bias Bernhoft, Arild Feldborg and Erik Diesen. Per Jonsson
Per Jonsson (born 21 March 1966 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a former speedway rider who won the Speedway World Championship in 1990, and finished runner-up in 1992. Career In 1985, his second season with the Reading Racers, the team won six major trophies. In 1993, he won the World Pairs Championship with Tony Rickardsson and reserve Henrik Gustafsson, and also won the British League Riders' Championship. His career was cut short when a crash during a league meeting in Poland in 1994 left him using a wheelchair for the rest of his life. In recognition of his contribution to the city of Toruń, in April 2010 one of the streets was named after him. Per Jonsson became the first rider in history to win both the World and World Under-21 Championships.
