1986 European Figure Skating Championships
The 1986 European Figure Skating Championships was a senior-level international competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark from January 28 to February 2, 1986. Elite skaters from European ISU member nations competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Quad (figure Skating)
A quad, or quadruple, is a figure skating jump with at least four (but fewer than five) revolutions. All quadruple jumps have four revolutions, except for the quadruple Axel, which has four and a half revolutions. The quadruple toe loop and quadruple Salchow are the two most commonly performed quads. Quadruple jumps have become increasingly common among World and Olympic level men's single skaters, to the point that not performing a quad in a program has come to be seen as a severe handicap. This phenomenon is often referred to as the "quad revolution". Since 2018, quadruple jumps have also become an increasingly common feature of women's skating, although they are not allowed under the ISU rules in the ladies' short program. Nils Köpp is a German former figure skater who represented East Germany. He is the 1983 World Junior bronze medalist. After moving up to the senior level, he won bronze at the 1985 Golden Spin of Zagreb, silver at the 1986 Karl Schäfer Memorial, and five medals at the East German Championships (four silver and one bronze). Lars Dresler
Lars Gandrup Dresler (2 January 1968 – 7 November 1995) was a Danish figure skater. He was the 1990 Nordic champion and a five-time Danish national (1984–88). Dresler served as Denmark's flag bearer at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. He finished 14th overall after placing 14th in the compulsory figures, 12th in the short program, and 15th in the free skate. He trained at Gladsaxe Skøjteløber Forening. Petr Barna
Petr Barna (born 9 March 1966) is a Czech former competitive figure skater who competed for Czechoslovakia. He is the 1992 European champion, the 1992 Olympic bronze medalist, and a seven-time Czechoslovak national champion. Personal life Barna was born 9 March 1966 in Prague. In 1990, he married ice dancer Andrea Juklová, with whom he has a daughter, Sofie Barnová, born in April 1992. Career Barna started skating in Prague at an outdoor rink and received lessons from 1972. He began appearing at senior internationals in the 1982–83 season. He was coached by František Pechar. Viktor Vasyliovych Petrenko ( uk, Віктор Васильович Петренко; born 27 June 1969) is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater who represented the Soviet Union, the Unified Team, and Ukraine during his career.
