Budapest Honvéd FC
Budapest Honvéd Football Club (), commonly known as Budapest Honvéd or simply Honvéd, is a Hungarian sports club based in Kispest, Budapest, with the colours of red and black. The club is best known for its football team. ''Honvéd'' means the Homeland Defence. Originally formed as ''Kispest AC'', they became ''Kispest FC'' in 1926 before reverting to their original name in 1944. The team enjoyed a golden age during the 1950s when it was renamed ''Budapesti Honvéd SE'' and became the Hungarian Army team. The club's top players from this era, Ferenc Puskás, Sándor Kocsis, József Bozsik, Zoltán Czibor, and Gyula Grosics helped the club win the Hungarian League four times during the 1950s and also formed the nucleus of the legendary Hungarian national team popularly known as the '' Mighty Magyars.'' Lajos László Détári (born 24 April 1963) is a Hungarian football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. At the height of his career (1984–1994), he was a well-respected player throughout Europe, winning "Player of the Year" titles in Hungary, Greece and Switzerland. Playing career Détári was born in Budapest. In 1984 he made his debut for the Hungarian national team against Switzerland. He scored 13 goals in 61 caps for his country until 1994. He was a participant at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, where Hungary failed to progress from the group stage. Détári scored one goal in the 2:0 victory against Canada. To this day, this remains the last scored goal by Hungary in the World Cup finals. Kálmán Kovács (footballer, Born 1965)
Kálmán Kovács (born 11 September 1965) is a retired Hungarian football player. He made his debut for the Hungarian national team in 1982, and got 56 caps and 19 goals until 1995. He was a participant at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, where Hungary failed to progress from the group stage. Following the end of his active career, he served as technical director at Honvéd and has lately been showing up as co-commentator and expert on several Hungarian TV channels, including during the 2006 World Cup. László Dajka
László Dajka (born 29 April 1959 in Nyíregyháza) is a former Hungarian football player. European Champions' Cup In the season 1980–81, he participated into the European Champions' Cup with Budapest Honved where they reached the second round of the competition where they were beaten by Real Madrid by a 3-0 aggregate scoreline. He participated in the 1986 World Cup, which turned out a major disaster for Hungarian football – mainly because of the 0–6 defeat against the Soviet Union – and for Dajka in particular, having scored an own goal in the particular match. He was particularly well known for headers, scoring a great number of his goals that way. He has lately coached several Hungarian teams. Magyar Testgyakorlók Köre Budapest Futball Club or shortly MTK is a Hungarian football club based in Józsefváros, Budapest. The team currently plays in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. The club's colours are blue and white. As one of the most successful Hungarian football clubs, MTK has won the Hungarian League 23 times and the Hungarian Cup 12 times. The club has also won the Hungarian Super Cup twice.
