The 1982 European Figure Skating Championships was a senior-level international competition held in Lyon, France, from February 2 to 7, 1982. Igor Bobrin
Igor Anatolyevich Bobrin (Russian: Игорь Анатольевич Бобрин) (born 14 November 1953 in Leningrad) is a Russian former competitive figure skater who represented the Soviet Union. He is the 1981 European champion, the 1981 World bronze medalist, and a four-time (1978, 1980–1982) Soviet national champion. Bobrin placed 6th at the 1980 Winter Olympics. Career During his competitive career, Bobrin was known for being a particularly creative free skater. He invented an unusual horizontal-twisting jump sometimes called a "log jump" or "Bobrinover". At one of his first international competitions, the 1972 Winter Universiade, a contemporary review noted that even the pros were puzzled by the jump, which was described as "somewhat like an Arabian cartwheel, only performed going straight ahead". Mark Pepperday
Mark Pepperday (born 15 March 1961) is a British figure skating coach and former competitor. He is the 1977 World Junior silver medalist. His highest placement at the European Championships was 14th, in 1981, and his highest placement at the World Championships was 20th, in 1983. After retiring from competition, Pepperday toured with Holiday on Ice for three and a half years and became a skating coach. He has been based at Bülacher Eislaufclub in Bülach, Switzerland. Oliver Höner (born 18 September 1966) is a Swiss figure skating coach and former competitor. A member of EC Zürich, he became an eleven-time (1979, 1980, 1982, 1984–1991) Swiss national champion and placed in the top ten at five ISU Championships – four Europeans and the 1989 Worlds in Paris. Jozef (Jumping Joe) Sabovčík (born 4 December 1963) is a Slovak figure skater who competed representing Czechoslovakia.
