1982 All-Big Ten Conference Football Team
The 1982 All-Big Ten Conference football team consists of American football players chosen by various organizations for All-Big Ten Conference teams for the 1982 college football season. Michigan receiver Anthony Carter was a first-team pick for the third consecutive year, a unanimous first-team selection by the conference coaches, and also a consensus All-American. Eight Michigan players were selected as a first-team players, including Carter, running back Lawrence Ricks, offensive guard Stefan Humphries, defensive back Keith Bostic. 1982 Big Ten Conference Football Season
The 1982 Big Ten Conference football season was the 87th season of college football played by the member schools of the Big Ten Conference and was a part of the 1982 NCAA Division I-A football season. The 1982 Big Ten champion was Michigan. The Wolverines lost two of their first three games, then won seven consecutive games before losing to Ohio State and also losing to UCLA in the 1983 Rose Bowl. Babe Laufenberg
Brandon Hugh "Babe" Laufenberg (born December 5, 1959) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League for the New Orleans Saints, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and Kansas City Chiefs. He also was a member of the Ohio Glory in the World League of American Football. He played college football at Indiana University. Early years Laufenberg grew up in Encino, California and was dubbed Babe by his brother Jeff because he was the youngest in the family. He attended Crespi Carmelite High School, where he was a two-year starter at quarterback and left as the school's all-time leading passer with 2,678 yards on 184 completions. Tim Krumrie
Timothy Alan Krumrie (born May 20, 1960) is a former American football nose tackle who played his entire National Football League career for the Cincinnati Bengals, from 1983 through 1994. Early years Krumrie was raised on a dairy farm outside of Mondovi, Wisconsin. He played football at Mondovi High School. Also a standout wrestler for the Buffaloes, Krumrie won the heavyweight state title in 1979, the last year all schools were combined in one division. John Michael Alt (born May 30, 1962) is a former professional American football offensive tackle in the National Football League. He played his entire NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1984 to 1996. A graduate of Columbia Heights (MN) High School, he played his college years at the University of Iowa. Rich Strenger
Richard Gene Strenger (born March 10, 1960) is a former All-Big Ten American football offensive tackle who played for the University of Michigan Wolverines (1980–1982) and Detroit Lions (1983–1987). He is now working as a lawyer in Lake Orion, Michigan. High school and college Strenger began in football as a speedy, 218-pound end for Grafton High School in Grafton, Wisconsin. In 1977, he was named All-Metro at the end position after catching four touchdown passes, including a 41-yard reception. Chris Hinton
Christopher Jerrod Hinton (born July 31, 1961) is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the Indianapolis Colts franchise. In addition to his seven seasons with the Colts, he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons for four seasons and the Minnesota Vikings for two seasons. Hinton was selected fourth overall by the Denver Broncos in the 1983 NFL Draft and was traded to the Colts as part of a deal for the Broncos to receive Colts' pick John Elway. Tom Dixon (born August 21, 1961) is a former American football player. He played college football at the University of Michigan and professional football for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL).
