Tim Krumrie
Timothy Alan Krumrie (born May 20, 1960) is a former American football nose tackle who played his entire National Football League career for the Cincinnati Bengals, from 1983 through 1994. Early years Krumrie was raised on a dairy farm outside of Mondovi, Wisconsin. He played football at Mondovi High School. Also a standout wrestler for the Buffaloes, Krumrie won the heavyweight state title in 1979, the last year all schools were combined in one division. Each year since 2009, the Tim Krumrie Award is given to the outstanding high school senior defensive lineman in Wisconsin. The award is given by the Wisconsin Sports Network and WisSports.net. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Jesse Sapolu
Manase Jesse Sapolu (born March 10, 1961) is a Samoan former American football player in the National Football League. He played both center and offensive guard, and played his entire career for the San Francisco 49ers. Sapolu attended Farrington High School and the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. Standing 6 feet 4 inches, 278 lbs., he was selected by the Oakland Invaders in the 17th round (199th pick overall) of the 1983 USFL Draft, and selected by San Francisco 49ers in the 11th round (289th pick overall) of the 1983 NFL Draft. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers on July 10, 1983. The 1982 Independence Bowl was a post-season American college football bowl game between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Kansas State Wildcats at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 11, 1982.
