1975 Cannes Film Festival
The 28th Cannes Film Festival was held from 9 to 23 May 1975. The Palme d'Or went to the '' Chronique des Années de Braise'' by Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina. In 1975, a new section, "Les Yeux fertiles", which was non-competitive, was introduced. This section, along with sections "L'Air du temps" and "Le Passé composé" of the next two years, were integrated into Un Certain Regard in 1978. The festival opened with '' A Happy Divorce'' (''Un Divorce heureux''), directed by Henning Carlsen and closed with ''Tommy'', directed by Ken Russell. Wojciech Siudmak
Wojciech Kazimierz "Wojtek" Siudmak (born 10 October 1942 in Wieluń) is a Polish painter, currently living in France. He was a student at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. His works are often used as illustrations for science fiction and fantasy literature, including the Polish edition of Frank Herbert's '' Dune'' series. He is also known for his work on album covers, including the award-winning cover for Eloy's 1977 album ''Ocean''. Siudmak painted in 1985 a picture ''Ethernal Love'', he continues the subject e.g. in the form of monuments. André Delvaux
André Albert Auguste Delvaux (; 21 March 1926 – 4 October 2002) was a Belgian film director. He co-founded the film school INSAS in 1962 and is regarded as the founder of the Belgian national cinema. Adapting works by writers such as Johan Daisne, Julien Gracq and Marguerite Yourcenar, he received international attention for directing magic realist films. Delvaux received the Louis Delluc Prize for '' Rendezvous at Bray'' (1971) and the André Cavens Award for '' Woman Between Wolf and Dog'' (1979) and ''The Abyss'' (1988). Nelson Pereira dos Santos (22 October 1928 21 April 2018) was a Brazilian film director. He directed films such as '' Vidas Secas'' (Barren Lives), based on the book with the same name by Brazilian writer Graciliano Ramos. Biography Pereira dos Santos, named in honor of Almirante Horatio Nelson, was born in São Paulo, Brazil. Himself a frequenter of the cinema, Pereira dos Santos's father brought his very young son to the movie theater for the first time. By secondary school Pereira dos Santos was already fond of literature, and at 15 years old he joined the Brazilian Communist Party and became close to one of its other members, Astrogildo Pereira.
