The 1971 European Amateur Boxing Championships were held in Madrid, Spain from 11 June to 19 June. The 19th edition of the bi-annual competition was organised by the European governing body for amateur boxing, EABA. There were 194 fighters from 27 countries participating. János Kajdi
János Kajdi (30 December 1939 – 10 April 1992) was a boxer from Hungary. He competed at the 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics in the lightweight, light-welterweight and welterweight (– 67 kg) division, respectively, and won a silver medal in 1972. Calistrat Cuțov
Calistrat Ilie Cuțov (born 10 October 1948) is a retired Romanian boxer. He won the European lightweight title in 1969 and an Olympic bronze medal in 1968. He also competed in the light-welterweight division at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics, but was eliminated before reaching semifinals. He retired after winning a bronze medal at the 1977 European Championships, with a record of 11 losses out of 398 bouts. Since 1981 he has worked as a boxing coach.
