1968 Cork Senior Football Championship
The 1968 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 80th staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 28 January 1968. The championship began on 7 April 1968 and ended on 6 October 1968. Beara entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by University College Cork at the quarter-final stage. On 6 October 1968, Carbery won the championship following a 1-09 to 1-06 defeat of Clonakilty in a final replay. This was their second championship title overall and their first title since 1937. Clonakilty's Tim F. Hayes was the championship's top scorer with 0-26. Seandun GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division in the city of Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, at adult level. The winners of these competitions compete against other divisional champions to determine which club is the county champion. Sarsfields GAA (Cork)
Sarsfields GAA is a hurling club is based in the Riverstown and Glanmire area of County Cork. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. They have won six County Championships, 1951, 1957, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. They have also won three Minor County Championships, 2007, 2008 and 2014. The club derives its name for the Irish Jacobite and soldier Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan. County Championship history While the club reached a number of championship semi-finals prior to 1936, it wasn't until the 1936 Cork Senior Hurling Championship before the club contested their first final. Nemo Rangers Hurling & Football Club is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club on the southside of Cork city, Ireland. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club is affiliated with Carbery division of Cork. In 2007, Bandon won the West Cork Junior A Football Championship, beating Muintir Bhaire in the final. The club's hurling team meanwhile were runners-up in the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Muskerry GAA
Muskerry GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division located in the middle region of County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork GAA County Board. The division includes clubs from areas to the west of Cork city stretching to the county bounds with Kerry. Its name is derived from the ancient Gaelic kingdom of Múscraige which, following the Norman conquest, now encompasses the baronies of Muskerry West and Muskerry East. O'Donovan Rossa or Skibbereen is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. It participates in Cork GAA competitions. Carrigdhoun GAA is one of the eight baronies or Gaelic Athletic Association divisions that make up Cork. The division is made up of eleven Gaelic Athletic Association teams, making it one of the smaller divisions. The division is also known as the South East division. It extends from just south of Cork city down to Ballinspittle in the south of the county.
