1960 Ukrainian Class B
The 1960 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was the 30th season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Ukrainian Class B. It was the eleventh in the Soviet Class B. The 1960 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR (Class B) was won by FC Metalurh Zaporizhia. Format In 1960 Class B football competitions were reorganized. Ukrainian teams of the 1959 Soviet Class B were filtered into a separate republican Class B football competitions that were administered by the Ukrainian sports organization (federation). The new competition obtained already existing member-clubs of the Class B that are based in Ukraine and almost the same number of clubs were added from regular republican competitions as part of expansion. Ukrainian Soviet Competitions
The Championship of the Ukrainian SSR in football was a top competition of association football in the Ukrainian SSR in 1921-91. Number of Ukrainian clubs almost never competed in the championship such as Dynamo Kyiv. The competitions were organized by the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR that was created in 1959 in place of the Football Section. Before 1980 selected teams of Moldavian SSR participated in the championship. Historical outlook Established as the All-Ukrainian inter-city competition in 1921, later it was included into number of All-Ukrainian Olympiads and Spartakiads. During several seasons the competitions were suspended due to football being identified as a ''"non-proletariat sport"''. FC Vorskla Poltava ( uk, ФК «Во́рскла» Полта́ва ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Poltava that competes in the Ukrainian Premier League, the top flight of Ukrainian football. History Kolos Poltava The club draws its history from 1955 when in the city of Poltava was established a football club Kolhospnyk within the republican trade union sports society '' Kolos''. FC Zorya Luhansk ( uk, ФК «Зоря» Луганськ ) is a Ukrainian football team. Zorya Luhansk is based in the city of Luhansk, Ukraine. However, because of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the team play their games at Slavutych-Arena in Zaporizhzhia. The modern club as a team of masters was established on 10 April 1964 by the Football Federation of the Soviet Union merging the October Revolution Plant (Luhanskteplovoz) sports club Zorya and the Luhansk regional branch of the " Trudovye Rezervy" sports society. In 1972, as Zaria Voroshilovgrad, the club became the first provincial Soviet club to win the Soviet Top League title. FC Avanhard Ternopil was a football club based in Ternopil, Ukrainian SSR. The club played in the Soviet Second League 1960–1971. During that time the club also used to be called ''Budivelnyk''. Its games it played at Ternopilsky Misky Stadion that was called ''Avanhard Stadium''. Currently in Ternopil there is another football club, FC Nyva Ternopil that one might mistakenly confuse with the former Avanhard. FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk was a Ukrainian football team based in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine, the unofficial capital of the Prykarpattia region. History The club was founded in 1940 after the Soviet occupation of the Eastern Poland during the World War II. All previous local sports clubs were liquidated and replaced with "proletarian".
