1932 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1932 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 44th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place at the Cork Convention on 31 January 1932. The championship began on 10 April 1932 and ended on 2 October 1932. Blackrock were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by St. Finbarr's at the semi-final stage. On 2 October 1932, St. Finbarr's won the championship following a 5–3 to 4–4 defeat of Carrigtwohill in the final. This was their 9th championship title overall and their first title in six championship seasons. 1918 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1918 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 31st staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. Redmonds were the defending champions, however, the club refused to field a team in the championship after a dispute with the county board after the suspension of some players from their Gaelic football team. On 28 September 1918, Carrigtwohill won the championship following a 4–1 to 1–7 defeat of Blackrock in the final. This was their first championship title ever. Redmonds is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Cork in County Cork, Ireland. The club is situated in Tower Street, on the southside of the city. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún divisional board competitions. The club no longer fields hurling teams but continues to participate in the Seandun junior C football competitions. Fermoy GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the town of Fermoy, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in competitions organized by the Cork GAA county board and the Avondhu GAA divisional board. The club plays both Gaelic football and hurling. UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. Ballincollig GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Cork GAA board and plays in the Muskerry divisional competitions. In 2009, the club will participate in the Cork Senior Football Championship and the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Mardyke (UCC)
The Mardyke, also referred as the Mardyke Sports Ground, is the sport and fitness facilities used by sports team representing University College Cork, the general student body, and members of the public. It is based in the Cork district of Mardyke. UCC acquired the grounds in 1911, and rented the main pitch to rugby, soccer, hockey and hurling clubs in the city for a 15% cut of the gate receipts. Outdoors, there are floodlit grass and all-weather pitches, used for soccer, rugby, Gaelic games, and hockey. Kayakers train in the adjacent North channel of the River Lee. There is a tartan track for athletics, where the Cork City Sports are held annually. The most notable performance came in the hammer throw on 3 July 1984, when Yuriy Sedykh and Sergey Litvinov broke the world record six times in one evening.
