Camillus Nyrop
Camillus Nyrop (18 February 1811 - 24 December 1883) was a Denmark, Danish instrumentmaker and bandagist. He was the founder of Camillus Nyrops Etablissement, Denmark's first manufacturer of surgical instruments and artificial lims. Early life and education Nyrop was born on 18 February 1811 in Riserup on Falster, the son of provost Christopher Ntrop (1752-1831) and his second wife Cathrine Elisabeth Magdalene Heilmann (1765-1842). He was an apprentice in Woodturning, court turner ]Sværtegade 3, J. G. Schwartz's workshop in 1816–22. He had already at this point started to take an interest in surgical instruments. In 1833 he was articled to J. H. Hüttemeier to improve his knowledge of metalwork while at the same time studying under Hans Christian Ørsted at the College of Advanced Technology. Hans Nielsen Jeppesen
Hans Nielsen Jeppesen (15 February 1815 – 8 October 1883) was a Denmark, Danish merchant and ship-owner. He bought his first ship in 1850 and his fleet of merchant ships later grew to 10 ships. He was the maternal grandfather of Mærsk- founder Arnold Peter Møller. Early life and career Jeppesen was born on 15 February 1815 in Dragør, the son of Niels Taarnby Jeppesen and Marchen Hansdatter Møller. The family lived at Von Ostensgade 8. He went to sea in an early age and passed his exams as helmsman at the Navigation School, Copenhagen, Navigation School in 1835 but did not have enough practical experience to work as a helmsman until 1838. He began to work for Christian August Broberg, Chr. Broberg & Søn in 1841 and was on 28 May 1842 granted citizenship#Middle Ages, citizenship in Copenhagen. He was captain on Chr. Jens Adolf Jerichau
Emil Jens Baumann Adolf Jerichau (17 April 1816 – 25 July 1883) was a Danish sculptor. He belonged to the generation immediately after Bertel Thorvaldsen, for whom he worked briefly in Rome, but gradually moved away from the static Neoclassicism he inherited from him and towards a more dynamic and realistic style. He was a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and its director from 1857 to 1863. Early life and career Jens Adolf Jerichau was born in Assens on the Danish island of Funen to grocer and lieutenant Carl Christian Jerichau and his wife Karen Birch. He worked in a painter's apprenticeship for one and a half years before traveling to Copenhagen where he was admitted to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1831.
