Hugo Egmont Hørring
Hugo Egmont Hørring (17 August 1842 – 13 February 1909) was a Danish politician, a member of the Højre political party. He was Council President of Denmark from 1897 to 1900 as the leader of the Cabinet of Hørring. Biography Hørring was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He became a student in 1860 at Borgerdydskolen in Christianshavn and received a cand.jur. degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1868. He held various positions in the Ministry of the Interior and in 1882 became director of the Royal Greenland Trading Department (''Den Kongelige Grønlandske Handel''). Hørring retired from government service in April 1900. Christoph Ernst Friedrich Weyse
Christoph(er) Ernst Friedrich Weyse (5 March 1774 – 8 October 1842) was a Denmark, Danish composer during the Danish Golden Age. Biography Weyse was born at Altona, Hamburg, Altona in Holstein, which was in a personal union with Denmark. He gained much interest in music in his hometown and Hamburg, where C.P.E. Bach was the municipal director of music. At age fifteen (1789), Weyse was sent to live with his uncle in Copenhagen to be educated, and lived there for the rest of his life. While in Copenhagen he studied music with Johann Abraham Peter Schulz. Schulz helped Weyse get an unpaid internship at the Reformed Church, Copenhagen, Reformed Church in Copenhagen. In 1794, he was appointed organist at the same church following the former organist's death. He later served in the same post at the Church of Our Lady (Copenhagen), Vor Frue Kirke after 1805. Hannibal Sehested (council President)
Hannibal Sehested (16 November 1842 – 19 September 1924) was Danish landowner and Council President from 27 April 1900 to 24 July 1901 as the leader of the Cabinet of Sehested. He was the last Danish Council President appointed by the king without support from the Danish Parliament before Denmark switched to a parliamentary system and the secret ballot. Biography Sehested was born at Gudme on the island of Funen, Denmark. He was the son of Niels Frederik Bernhard Sehested and his wife Charlotte Christine Linde. He became a student at Herlufsholm School in 1860 and graduated from the University of Copenhagen in 1869. In 1886 he was elected to the County Council and represented the Højre party for the 6th County Council until 1910. Sehested took over Stamhuset Broholm in 1894. Christian VIII (18 September 1786 – 20 January 1848) was King of Denmark from 1839 to 1848 and, as Christian Frederick, King of Norway in 1814. Christian Frederick was the eldest son of Hereditary Prince Frederick, a younger son of King Frederick V of Denmark and Norway. Carl Christian Hillman Jacobsen (2 March 1842 – 11 January 1914) was a Danish brewer, art collector and philanthropist. Though often preoccupied with his cultural interests, Jacobsen was a shrewd and visionary businessman and initiated the transition of the brewery Carlsberg from a local Copenhagen brewery to the multinational conglomerate that it is today. Background Carl Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was the son of J. C. Jacobsen (1811-1887), who founded the brewery Carlsberg.
