Iver Rosenkrantz
Iver Eriksen Rosenkrantz (5 December 1674 – 13 November 1745) was a Danish statesman and landowner. Education and early career Iver Rosenkrantz was born at Rosenholm Castle (''Rosenholm Slot'') in Hornslet, Denmark. He was the son of Erik Rosenkrantz til Rosenholm (1612–1681) and his third wife Margaret Krabbe til Vemmetofte (1640-1716). His father was a nobleman and statesman who died when Iver was aged 7. Iver's mother hailed from the province of Scania (Skåne) which was ceded to the Swedes in 1658. Iver's maternal grandfather Iver Krabbe was a prominent politician and army man, one-time governor of Norway. Iver Krabbe and his wife (young Iver's grandmother), Karen Marsvin, settled in Denmark after the cession of Scania, but young Iver still had two aunts and an uncle in what was now southern Sweden. Johan Lorentz Castenschiold (13 May 1705 – 19 June 1745) was a Danish nobleman, landowner and planter. Early life Johan Lorentz Carstens was born on 13 May 1705 on the island of Saint Thomas in the Danish West Indies. His parents were a Danish planter named Jørgen Carstens and his wife Margrethe Volckers. Margrethe was the daughter of Governor Johan Lorensen, a wealthy man who whose financial status benefitted that of Jørgen's via the marriage. Prior to the marriage, Jørgen had already acquired a sugar plantation known as Mosquito Bay. Plantation-owning career Carstens inherited the Mosquito Bay plantation in 1720 after his father died. He married a woman named Jacoba von Holten in 1728, who was the daughter of former governor Joachim Melchior von Holten. As a result of the marriage, Carstens acquired ownership over two plantations formerly owned by the von Holten family, the Pearl and Crown estates. Elias David Häusser
Elias David Häusser (25 June 1687 – 16 March 1745) was a German-Danish architect working in the Baroque and Rococo styles. He is most known for designing the first Christiansborg Palace which was almost completely destroyed in a fire in 1794. Häusser is credited with introducing both those styles to Denmark. Biography Häusser was born in Erfurt, Preußen or Prussia. His parents were David Häusser (1645-1709) and Johanna Maria Evander (1666-1741). He spent some time at the court of the Duke of Saxony-Gotha and was educated as a military building master in Saxony-Poland. In 1711 he came into Danish military service. Christian VI (30 November 1699 – 6 August 1746) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1730 to 1746. The eldest surviving son of Frederick IV and Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, he is considered one of Denmark-Norway's more anonymous kings, but he was a skilled politician, best known for his authoritarian regime. He was the first king of the Oldenburg dynasty to refrain from entering in any war. During his reign both compulsory confirmation (1736) and a public, nationwide school system (1739) were introduced.
