12th Moscow International Film Festival
The 12th Moscow International Film Festival was held from 7 to 21 July 1981. The Golden Prizes were awarded to the Brazilian film ''O Homem que Virou Suco'' directed by João Batista de Andrade, the Vietnamese film '' The Abandoned Field: Free Fire Zone'' directed by Nguyen Hong Shen and the Soviet-French-Swiss film ''Teheran 43'' directed by Aleksandr Alov and Vladimir Naumov. László Lugossy
László Lugossy (born 23 October 1939) is a Hungarian film director. In 1976, his film ''Man Without a Name (1976 film), Man Without a Name'' was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear, Silver Bear for an outstanding single achievement. In 1981 he was a member of the jury at the 12th Moscow International Film Festival. His 1981 film ''Köszönöm, megvagyunk'' was entered into the 31st Berlin International Film Festival. The following year he was a member of the jury at the 32nd Berlin International Film Festival. In 1985, his film ''Flowers of Reverie'' won the Jury Grand Prix, Silver Bear - Special Jury Prize at the 35th Berlin International Film Festival. Salah Abu Seif
Salah Abu Seif ( ar, صلاح أبو سيف, ) (May 10, 1915 – June 23, 1996) was one of the most famous Egyptian film directors, and is considered to be the godfather of Neorealist cinema in Egyptian cinema. Many of the 41 films he directed are considered Egyptian classics with 11 films in the Top 100 Egyptian films list. His film '' The Beginning and the End'' (1960) was the first adaptation of a novel by Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz. In 1977 he was a member of the jury at the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. Early life Abu-Seif was born in 1915, in Cairo's ancient quarter of Boolaq, to landowning parents from Upper Egypt. Med Hondo (born Mohamed Abid Hondo; 4 May 1935 – 2 March 2019) was a Mauritanian-born French director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Considered a founding father of African cinema, he is known for his controversial films dealing with issues such as race relations and colonization.
