''Jeppe på bjerget'' (English: Jeppe of the Hill) is a 1981 Danish film directed by Kaspar Rostrup. The script, written by Henning Bahs, was based on a play of the same name by Ludvig Holberg. The film was produced by Nordisk Film and debuted on 16 February 1981. It won three Bodil Awards: Best Film, Best Actor (for Buster Larsen) and Best Supporting Actor (for Kurt Ravn). It was also entered into the 12th Moscow International Film Festival. Kaspar Rostrup
Kaspar Rostrup (born 27 April 1940) is a Danish film director. Two of his films won the Best Film prize at the Bodil Awards : ''Jeppe på bjerget'' (1981) and ''Waltzing Regitze'' (1989). The latter was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. ''Jeppe på bjerget'' was entered into the 12th Moscow International Film Festival. Ove Verner Hansen (20 July 1932 – 20 February 2016) was a Danish opera singer and actor. He played the character, "Bøffen" (or "Biffen" in Norwegian, literally meaning "the steak" in both languages) in 16 of the ''Olsen-banden''-movies (11 danish and 5 norwegian). He played a tall, large, and slow-moving henchman, often seen lifting Egon Olsen up over his head, carrying him under one arm, and trying to kill him. Personal life and career Hansen began his career as an office clerk, but during his early life he also worked as a sailor, miner, lumberjack, and ambulance driver. Born with a deep and voluminous voice, he later began singing professionally, and in 1958 he became accepted into the Danish National Radio Choir.
