KSLM (1220 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to serve Salem, Oregon, United States. The station is owned by Jacqueline Smith and the broadcast license is held by KCCS, LLC. Current programming KSLM broadcasts a conservative talk radio format. History Salem Broadcasters was issued a construction permit by the Federal Communications Commission in 1960 to construct a new AM station broadcasting with 1,000 watts of power on a frequency of 1220 kHz. On December 12, 1961, KAPT began regular broadcast operations under the leadership of general manager Col. Carl W. Nelson. WSLM (1220 AM) is a full service radio station licensed to serve the community of Salem, Indiana. Programming consists of news and sports. The station is owned and operated by Rebecca L. White. WSLM 1220 AM is a Kentuckiana Affiliate for Purdue Sports and the Cincinnati Reds. There is a sister station, WSLM-FM. Rebecca L. White holds the license to the FM station as well. WGNY (1220 AM) is a radio station broadcasting an oldies format. Licensed to Newburgh, New York, the station serves the Newburgh-Middletown area and is currently owned by Sunrise Broadcasting Corporation. Early history WGNY signed on as the Hudson Valley's first radio station on February 25, 1933, owned by wealthy real estate developer Robert Wilson Goelet. Goelet built his estate, Glenmere mansion, in the town of Chester, New York in 1911; in 1932, he decided to create a radio station that would broadcast from its grounds. (Goelet wanted the call letters WCNY, for "Chester, New York", but as they were already taken, he settled for WGNY.)
