1999 Swedish Touring Car Championship
The 1999 Swedish Touring Car Championship season was the 4th Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) season. It was decided over eight race weekends (comprising sixteen races) at six different circuits. Mattias Ekström won his first championship for Kristofferson Motorsport. Swedish Touring Car Championship
Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) was a touring car racing series based in Sweden, but also with rounds in Norway. They began operating in 1996, heavily influenced by the British Touring Car Championship and the success of BTCC racing on Swedish television. There are also a number of support classes that compete with their races alongside STCC; Radical Sportscars, Radical, the Camaro Cup, Superkart, Pro Superbike, the JTCC and the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. The final STCC season was in 2010, as the series merged with the Danish Touringcar Championship to form the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Rules The cars are built according to the Super 2000 rules used in the FIA WTCC. A national counterpart, N2000, also exists to encourage teams to build their own cars without having to have them homologated by FIA. Opel Vectra
The Opel Vectra is a mid-size car (large family car) that was engineered and produced by the German automaker Opel from 1988 until 2010. Stefan Lindberg (born 1971 in Alingsås) is a Swedish writer, playwright and translator. He made his book debut in 1999 with the short story collection ''Tusen nålar'' and has since published five more fiction books. In 2002, he published the novel ''Min terapi'' and in 2008 the collection of short stories ''I Gorans ögon''. In 2014, he published the acclaimed novel ''Du vet väl om att du är värdefull'' and 2016 ''Nätterna på Mon Chéri, också'', also a novel, which revolves around the so-called "33-åringen", the Palme murder and its investigation. Karl Thomas Conny Johansson (; born 24 March 1975) is a Swedish retired professional tennis player and coach. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 7 singles ranking on 10 May 2002. His career highlights in singles include a Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2002, and an ATP Masters Series title at the 1999 Canada Masters. The Ford Mondeo is a large family car manufactured by Ford since 1993. Tommy Rustad (born 3 September 1968, in Oslo) is a Norwegian auto racing driver. He currently drives in the FIA European Rallycross Championship and occasionally in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Tommy is the son of former well known Norwegian racer Ola Rustad (1919-1999). Carl "Calle" Rosenblad (born 28 April 1969, in Västervik) is a Swedish auto racing driver. He is married with two children. Racing career His first racing was in Swedish Formula Opel in 1990, where he drove for four seasons. He also drove in the Swedish Porsche Challenge and the European Interseries from 1991. In 1996 he got a drive in the International Formula 3000, with the British Alpha Plus Team. The season was not a successful one, ending with no championship points. In 1997 he switched to the FIA GT Championship, with a GT1 Class Porsche 911 for the Kremer Racing Team, again with little success. He moved to touring cars in 1998, driving a Nissan Primera in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. In 1998 he also raced the Rolex 24h at Daytona for Larbre Compétition, ending in a strong 3rd place (total).
