The 1999 Swedish Golf Tour, titled as the 1999 Telia Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 16th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, the main professional golf tour in Sweden since it was formed in 1984, with most tournaments being incorporated into the Nordic Golf League since 1999. Fredrik Widmark (born 20 November 1975 in Hässleholm) is a Swedish professional golfer. A graduate from the U.S. college system where he won five times, Widmark turned professional in 1998 and played predominantly on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour where he won three tournaments. Graduated from the Challenge Tour in 2002 when he finished 14th on the end of season rankings. Karl Henrik Brink (born 12 August 1975) is a Swedish professional golfer who has played on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour. Brink was born in Helsingborg, Sweden. His sister, Maria, is also a professional golfer, who has competed on the Ladies European Tour. In 1993, Brink was member of the Swedish team winning the European Boys' Team Championship in Ascona, Switzerland. He also represented Sweden at the 1994 Espirito Santo Trophy at Le Golf National, outside Paris, France, earning a bronze medal with his team. Brink turned professional in 1994. The Swedish Match Play Championship is a golf tournament played since 1904, held for both men and women. It is the oldest and most traditional golf tournament in Sweden. The name SM is shortening in Swedish language for "Svenska Mästerskapet" (the Swedish Championship). The Västerås Open was a golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour that featured on the Challenge Tour 1990–1994. It was played in Västerås, Sweden. The Kentab Open was first played as an amateur tournament at Västerås GC in 1978, and it was added to the Swedish Golf Tour in 1986. Starting in 1998 the tournament began rotating between Västerås GC, Frösåker G&CC, Ängsö GC and Fullerö GC. In 2007 Västerås Municipality became the main sponsor and it was rebranded the ''Västerås Mälarstaden Open''.
