1999 National Camogie League
The 1999 National Camogie League is a competition in the women's team field sport of camogie was won for the fifth time succession by Cork, who defeated Tipperary by an astonishing 36 points in the final, played at Thurles. The one-sided result was, surprisingly, reversed by Tipperary in the championship when they beat Kilkenny in the 1999 All-Ireland championship final replay four months later, Kilkenny having beaten Cork in a replayed semi-final. It was the first National League to be played since the rules of camogie changed the team size to 15-a-side, although the 1993 and 1994 League had been played on an experimental basis with 15 players a side. Arrangements Cork defeated Tipperary by five points in the first round of the league. Tipperary then defeated Limerick, Clare, Kilkenny and Wexford and scored a tremendous win over Galway in the semi-final. Newtownshandrum GAA
Newtownshandrum GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the small village of Newtownshandrum in County Cork, Ireland. The club, situated in half a parish of about 800 people, was founded in 1896 and is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. In senior hurling Newtownshandrum compete annually in the Cork Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they have won four times as of 2009. The club, one of the few senior teams from the Avondhu division in the northern part of the county, also competes in various other championships in all grades within Cork. Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Barryoe GAA club is a Gaelic football and Hurling club in the parish of Barryroe in County Cork, Ireland. It draws its players from the villages of Courtmacsherry, Butlerstown, Lislevane and surrounding areas.
