The 1999 European Seniors Tour was the 8th season of the European Seniors Tour, the professional golf tour for men aged 50 and above operated by the PGA European Tour. Tommy Horton
Thomas Alfred Horton, (16 June 1941 – 7 December 2017) was an English professional golfer. He finished in the top ten of the Open Championship four times, won a number of important tournaments both before and after the founding of the European Tour in 1972 and played in the Ryder Cup in 1975 and 1977. He reached 50 just before the founding of the European Seniors Tour and won 23 times on the tour between 1992 and 2000. Early life Horton was born in St Helens, Merseyside; he moved to Jersey in 1945 and was brought up and educated on the island. Professional career Horton was an assistant at Ham Manor Golf Club near Worthing, Sussex from 1959, later becoming the professional there. In 1974 he moved to Royal Jersey Golf Club. Neil Coles
Neil Chapman Coles, MBE (born 26 September 1934) is an English professional golfer. Coles had a successful career in European golf, winning 29 important tournaments between 1956 and 1982. After reaching 50, he won a further 14 important Seniors tournaments between 1985 and 2002, winning his final European Seniors Tour event at the age of 67. He also played in eight Ryder Cup matches between 1961 and 1977. Early life Coles was born in London, England, and grew up in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. The Wentworth Senior Masters was a men's professional golf tournament on the European Seniors Tour from 1997 to 2007. The first tournament was won by multi-major winner Gary Player. It was staged at the Wentworth Club beyond the western fringe of London, which has the headquarters of the PGA European Tour European Seniors Tour Championship, as the Seniors Tour's fixed location tournament. It was played on the Edinburgh Course. The two European Tour tournaments at the club (the corporate-sponsored PGA Championship and the World Play Championship) were played over the West Course. Christy O'Connor Jnr
Christy O'Connor Jnr (born Christopher O'Connor; 19 August 1948 – 6 January 2016) was an Irish professional golfer. He is best known for defeating American Fred Couples at the 1989 Ryder Cup, helping Europe secure the trophy. Early life O'Connor was born in Knocknacarra, Ireland in 1948. Knocknacarra is a village in Salthill that is within County Galway. He was the son of Elizabeth (née Noone) and John O'Connor. The family farmed cattle and pigs near a golf club. O'Connor was not born with the "Junior" suffix.
