1998–99 Pirveli Liga was the 10th season of the Georgian Pirveli Liga. The 1998–99 season saw 54 teams in competition: 29 teams in the Eastern Zone, and 26 teams in the Western Zone. FC Sulori Vani
FC Sulori is a Georgian football club based in the town of Vani. They currently take part in Liga 4, the forth tier of Georgian league system. The team has spent two seasons in the top flight. They play their home games at Grigol Nikoleishvili Stadium. History Sulori became champions of the Georgian Soviet league in 1969. This success enabled the club to participate in the Soviet Second Minor league the next year, which they finished in the 10th place among 18 teams. By claiming seven titles within nine years, Sulori became one of the leading members of the republican league in 1980s. In the same period twice in a row they clinched the Georgian Cup as well. When the national championship was formed, the team won the second division in 1990 and gained promotion to the tier. However, after two seasons they were relegated. FC Skuri Tsalenjikha
FC Skuri, occasionally also spelled as Squri, is a Georgian football club, based in the town of Tsalenjikha. Currently they compete in Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football. History During the late Soviet times, Skuri was mainly a member of the first division of the Georgian domestic league. After the 1990s the team competed for years in Pirveli Liga, the second division of national championship. Skuri suffered a defeat in the 2014–15 fierce survival battle, although still obtained the right to remain in the league after another club was expelled. In 2016, they were defeated in the play-off final and relegated to the third league. A year later Skuri lost another relegation play-off tie and, as a result, had to leave Liga 3 as well. FC Shukura Kobuleti, commonly known as Shukura Kobuleti or simply Shukura, is a Georgian football club from Kobuleti, the second largest city of Adjara. After the 2022 season, they were promoted to Erovnuli Liga, the top tier of Georgian championship. History Established in 1968, Shukura played three seasons in the Soviet third division. After an independent Georgian league was formed in 1990, the club took part in II league competition before getting promoted to Umaglesi Liga for 1993/94. After one season, though, they lost the relegation battle. A decade later the team managed to earn another promotion after 2003/04, but facing severe financial problems, Shukura was unable to play in the first tier. FC Kolkheti Khobi is a Georgian association football club based in the town of Khobi. Following the 2022 season they won promotion to Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian league system. The club has spent several seasons in the top division. History Established in 1936, Kolkheti played many years in Georgian championship during the Soviet Union. In 1988 the club won the title and advanced to the Soviet Second league where the next year they finished in the 5th place. After 1990, when Umaglesi Liga was formed, Kolkheti participated in initial three seasons. Later they spent several years in the second and third divisions. FC Magaroeli is a Georgia (country), Georgian football (soccer), football club from Chiatura. Following the 2022 season they were relegated to Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Football in Georgia (country), Georgian football system. The team has twice participated in the top tier. Football Club Chikhura Sachkhere, commonly known as Chikhura Sachkhere or simply Chikhura, is a Georgian football club based in Sachkhere. After the 2022 season they were relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian league system. History Founded in 1938, during World War II the club was disbanded, but later they resumed participation in low leagues of the republican championship. Since 2002 Chikhura has been financed by the Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili. The club spent many years in lower divisions before getting promoted to Umaglesi Liga in 2012. The league gained a stable and decent member, known as a tough rival for championship title candidates. From the outset the club proved they were going to challenge the best teams. FC Sairme Bagdati is a Georgian football club based in the town of Baghdati. They compete in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian football. Their home ground is Bagdati's Central Stadium with the capacity of 3,000. History Sairme initially starting taking part in second tier of the Georgian Soviet league. In mid-2010s the club twice in a row came 3rd in Meore Liga, followed by the second place taken in 2016. Sairme under the management of Davit Machitidze finished one point short of a group winner and according to the existing league regulations, dropped down to Regionuli Liga along with all the remaining teams. With new coach Jaba Akhaladze in the new league, Sairme ended up in mid-table. Soon financial difficulties worsened their performance. FC Torpedo Kutaisi is a Georgian professional football club based in Kutaisi, Georgia's third largest city. FC Samgurali Tsqaltubo is a Georgian association football club from Tsqaltubo, which takes part in Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of the national league. They have been runners-up of the Georgian Cup three times. History In Soviet and national leagues Formed in 1945 as ''FC Medic'', the football club from Tsqaltubo had the most prolific years in 1980s.
