1998 Estoril Open
The 1998 Estoril Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. This event was the 9th edition of the Estoril Open, included in the 1998 ATP Tour International Series and in the 1998 ITF Women's Circuit. Both the men's and the women's events took place at the Estoril Court Central, in Oeiras, Portugal, from 6 April until 13 April 1998. Oeiras () is a town and municipality in the western part of Lisbon metropolitan area, located within the Portuguese Riviera, in continental Portugal. The municipality is part of the urban agglomeration of Lisbon and the town of Oeiras is about 16 km from Lisbon downtown. Caroline Schneider (born 1 June 1973) is a German professional tennis player. During her career, she won several titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Career highlights On 25 April 1994, Schneider reached her highest doubles ranking: World Number 61. Her highest singles ranking came on 12 December 1994, when she became World Number 289. Radka Bobková (born 12 February 1973) is a former Czech professional tennis player. Bobková has a career-high WTA singles ranking of 47, achieved on 20 September 1993. David Roditi
David Roditi Jiménez (born November 30, 1973) is a tennis coach and former player from Mexico. He is currently serving as the head men's tennis coach at Texas Christian University, his alma mater. Born in Mexico City, Roditi grew up in Guadalajara and Manzanillo, then moved to the United States as a teenager; he attended high school in San Clemente, California. Roditi participated in 10 Davis Cup ties for Mexico from 1997 to 2000, posting a 5–5 record in doubles. He was also Mexico's Davis Cup captain in 2016. Raluca Sandu
Raluca Sandu (born 3 February 1980) is a Romanian retired tennis player and professional padel player. On 18 January 1999, she reached her highest WTA singles ranking of 68 whilst her best doubles ranking was 228 on 13 September 1999. Raluca turned pro at the age of 15 and reached WTA top 100 by the time she was 17 years old. She was also ranked top 10 in the world ITF juniors ranking, reaching the semifinals at the 1995 US Open. Raluca was forced to retire early due to shoulder injury (2004). Thomas Muster (born 2 October 1967) is an Austrian former world No. 1 tennis player. One of the world's leading clay court players in the 1990s, he won the 1995 French Open and at his peak was called "The King of Clay". In addition, he won eight Masters 1000 Series titles. Muster is one of the nine players to win Super 9/ATP Masters Series/ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles on clay, hardcourt and carpet. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1997 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. Alberto Berasategui
Alberto Berasategui Salazar (born 28 June 1973) is a former top-10 professional tennis player from Spain. He was a Grand Slam finalist at the 1994 French Open, and won a total of 14 ATP singles titles, achieving a career-high singles ranking of world no. 7 in November 1994. Tennis career Berasategui won a total of 14 top-level singles titles and one tour doubles title. All of them, as well as all losses in finals, were on clay.
