1997 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 1997 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 107th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 4 October 1997 and ended on 2 November 1997. Boherlahan-Dualla were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Clonoulty-Rossmore at the quarter-final stage. On 2 November 1997, Clonoulty-Rossmore won the championship after a 0–17 to 1–12 defeat of Mullinahone in the final at Semple Stadium. It was their third championship title overall and their first title since 1989. Brian O'Meara (Mullinahone Hurler)
Brian O'Meara (born 1973) is an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Tipperary senior team. O'Meara joined the team during the 1994 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement a decade later. During that time he won one Munster winners' medal and two National Hurling League winners' medals. O'Meara was denied an All-Ireland winners' medal in 2001 having been ruled out of the final for receiving a red card in the semi-final. Paul Kelly (hurler)
Paul Kelly (born 14 December 1979) is an Irish hurler who plays for his local club Mullinahone and at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Recently he has transferred clubs to O'Loughlin Gaels club in Kilkenny but since 2010 he has returned to play for Mullinahone. He is noted for his versatility, playing in the backline, midfield and more recently in the forward line. Early life Paul Kelly was born in Mullinahone on the Tipperary-Kilkenny border in 1979. He is the older brother of Eoin Kelly. He was educated locally and attended Scoil Riain Killenaule Vocational School which has produced many Tipperary Hurlers. Playing career Club Kelly played his club hurling with his native Mullinahone with whom he has won one County Senior Hurling medal in 2002. Declan Ryan (hurler)
Declan Ryan (born 25 March 1968) is an Irish former hurler and team manager with Tipperary. Regarded as one of his county's greatest hurling servants, Ryan joined the team during the 1988 championship and was a regular member of the team until his retirement after the 2001 championship. During that time he won three All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and four National Hurling League medals. He has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. He is the father of two male kids, named, Jack and Tommy At club level Ryan is a two-time county club championship medalist with Clonoulty–Rossmore. In retirement from playing Ryan became involved in team management. Cashel King Cormacs GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Cashel, County Tipperary in Ireland. They play their games in Leahy Park, on the Clonmel Road in Cashel. The club is named for the king-bishop Cormac Mac Cárthaigh (d. 1138). Extensive work has been carried out in the last few years, with the addition of a new clubhouse and main stand the highlight. JK Brackens is a Gaelic Athletic Association club serving the parish of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea in County Tipperary, Ireland. Cappawhite GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club is located in the village of Cappawhite, County Tipperary, bordering on County Limerick in Republic of Ireland, Ireland.
