1997 KNVB Cup Final
The 1997 KNVB Cup Final was a football match between Roda JC and Heerenveen on 8 May 1997 at De Kuip, Rotterdam. It was the final match of the 1996–97 KNVB Cup competition and the 79th KNVB Cup final. Roda won 4–2 after goals from Gerald Sibon, Ger Senden, Eric van der Luer and Maarten Schops. It was the side's first KNVB Cup trophy. 1996–97 KNVB Cup
The 79th edition of the KNVB Cup (at the time called ''Amstel Cup'') started on June 1, 1996. The final was played on May 8, 1997: Roda JC beat sc Heerenveen 4–2 and won the cup for the first time. A total of 78 clubs participated. VV Katwijk
Voetbal Vereniging Katwijk is a Dutch football team founded in 1939, based in Katwijk, currently competing in the Dutch Tweede Divisie. History Katwijk have become Dutch amateur champions, by winning the overall Topklasse title in 2012–13. As such, they were invited to play in the Dutch Eerste Divisie but, after some consideration, the club opted to stay in the Topklasse, claiming the organisation was not yet ready to compete in the Eerste Divisie. Regillio Vrede
Regilio Vrede (born 18 January 1973) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, Vrede made over 200 appearances for RKC Waalwijk, Roda JC, Iraklis Thessaloniki, FC Groningen and TOP Oss. Coaching career After retiring in the summer 2006, Vrede worked four years as an assistant manager under Hans de Koning at TOP Oss. Then from August 2010 to the end of the year, he worked as an analyst/advisor for AGOVV Apeldoorn before he changed role and was appointed as assistant manager for the club until the end of the season. Rudolfus 'Ruud' Hubertus Hesp (born 31 October 1965) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Jeffrey Talan
Jeffrey Dennis Talan (born 29 September 1971) is a Dutch professional football coach and former player who is the assistant coach of Almere City. He gained 8 caps for the Netherlands national football team, in which he scored once. Club career Den Haag Talan began playing youth football for VV Katwijk, before moving to FC Den Haag. There, he made his debut in the Eredivisie in the 1990–91 season in the 2–0 away win over FC Volendam as a late substitute for Emiel van Eijkeren.
