1996–97 Singer Akai Cup
The 1997 Singer Akai Cup was held in Sharjah, UAE, between April 3-11, 1997. Three national teams took part: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe. The 1997 Singer Akai Cup started with a double round-robin tournament where each team played the other twice. The two leading teams qualified for the final. Sri Lanka won the tournament and US$40,000. Runners-up Pakistan won US$25,000 and Zimbabwe US$10,000. The beneficiaries of the tournament were Waqar Younis and Saeed Ahmed who each received US$35,000, and Aslam Khokhar, Israr Ali and Zulfiqar Ahmed (all Pakistan) who each received US$10,000. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. Ijaz Ahmed (cricketer)
Ijaz Ahmed (Urdu: ) (born 20 September 1968 in Sialkot) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played 60 Tests and 250 One Day Internationals for Pakistan over a period from 1986 to 2001. Deshabandu Marvan Samson Atapattu (born 22 November 1970) is a Sri Lankan cricket coach and former cricketer who played for 17 years for Sri Lanka. Arjuna Ranatunga

Shahid Nazir
Shahid Nazir (Urdu: شاہد نذیر) (born 4 December 1977) is a Pakistani cricketer. He made his Test debut for Pakistan against Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura in 1996, and immediately received much criticism from the spectators whose local favourite Aaqib Javed he was thought to have replaced. However, the crowd soon got behind him as he took 5 wickets in the first innings. He played in a number of Test matches for Pakistan over the next 3 years, but appearances became more intermittent and he was dropped in 1999. Shahid Nazir made a return to the national team on 8 June 2006 when he was officially added to the Pakistani squad for their tour of England after an injury to Shoaib Akhtar. Mohammad Zahid (born 2 August 1976) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. Zahid was the first Pakistani cricketer to take ten wickets on his international debut, taking eleven wickets against New Zealand in 1996. Saqlain Mushtaq BND ( ur, ; born 29 December 1956) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former international cricketer who, as of February 2022, is the head coach of the Pakistani national cricket team. Regarded as one of the best spin bowlers in the history of cricket, he is best known for pioneering the "doosra", a leg break delivery bowled with an off break action. Muhammad Moin Khan ( ur, ; born 23 September 1971) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer, primarily a wicketkeeper-batsman, who remained a member of the Pakistani national cricket team from 1990 to 2004. Mushtaq Ahmed Malik ( مشتاق احمد گجر ; born 28 June 1970) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who currently acts as the spin bowling coach for the Pakistan Cricket Team. Mohammad Wasim Abbasi ( ur, محمد وسیم عباسی; born August 8, 1978, in Rawalpindi, Punjab) is a Pakistani-Dutch cricket coach and cricketer who played for Pakistan and Dutch cricket team.
