The 1996–97 Santosh Trophy, also known as the Bharat Petroleum Santosh Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 53rd edition of the Santosh Trophy, the main State competition for football in India. Dipendu Biswas (29 September 1981) is an Indian retired professional footballer, who is the current team manager of the I-League outfit Mohammedan Sporting Club. Playing career Biswas's father is from Bengal and mother is from Kerala, Thalasseri, Kannur district. He graduated from the Tata Football Academy in 1996. He rejoined Mohun Bagan in 2012. His earnings in 1998–99 were reported to be Rs1.2 million and in 1999–2000 were Rs0.8 million.
