1996 Italian Grand Prix
The 1996 Italian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 8 September 1996 at Monza. It was the fourteenth race of the 1996 Formula One World Championship. The 53-lap race was won by Michael Schumacher, driving a Ferrari, after he started from third position. It was Schumacher's third victory of the season and the Ferrari team's first victory at Monza since 1988. Jean Alesi finished second in a Benetton-Renault, with Mika Häkkinen third in a McLaren- Mercedes. Drivers' Championship leader Damon Hill took pole position in his Williams-Renault and led until he made an error and spun off on lap 6, while his teammate and rival, Jacques Villeneuve, could only manage seventh. The Ferrari F310, and its evolution, the F310B, were the Formula One racing cars with which the Ferrari team competed in the and seasons. It was driven in both years by Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine. This was the first Ferrari Formula One car to run on Shell fuel since the 1970s. Ricardo Rosset
Ricardo Rosset (born 27 July 1968) is a Brazilian racing driver. He participated in 33 Formula One Grands Prix, making his debut at the 1996 Australian Grand Prix. He scored no championship points. He eventually quit Formula One to focus on developing a sportswear business in Brazil. Gerhard Berger (born 27 August 1959) is an Austrian former Formula One racing driver. Williams FW18
The Williams FW18, also known as the Williams-Renault FW18, is one of the most successful Formula One car designs of all time. It was designed by Adrian Newey and Patrick Head for the Williams F1 team for the 1996 Formula One season. The FW18s were driven by Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve.
