Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. The league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 20th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years. Ertuğrul Sağlam (born 19 November 1969) is a UEFA Pro Licensed Turkish football manager and former player. Playing career As a player, he scored 11 goals in 30 appearances for Turkey, and was selected for the Euro 1996 squad. He began his career playing for Fenerbahçe Youth but never played a professional game with the club and signed for Gaziantepspor. He spent nine years playing for Samsunspor during two spells, and helped the club to promotion to the Turkish top flight in 1991 and again in 1993 after relegation. He also played for Beşiktaş between 1994 and 2000. When he signed from Samsunspor to Beşiktaş in 1994, he was the most expensive signing in Turkish football, when Beşiktaş paid 70 Billion , equivalent to around 3 Million $, at the time. Saffet Sancaklı ( sr-Cyrl, Сафет Санџакли, Safet Sandžakli; born 27 February 1966) is a Turkish former international footballer and current politician. He is a deputy of Nationalist Movement Party, representing city of Kocaeli. Club career Sancaklı scored 130 goals in Süper Lig with different teams. Elvir Bolić
Elvir Bolić (; born 10 October 1971) is a Bosnian former footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his 18-year professional career in Turkey, appearing for seven clubs including Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. He also played three years in Spain, with Rayo Vallecano. Bolić represented Bosnia and Herzegovina during one full decade. It was founded in the 2001–02 season with the name of ''Turkish Second League Category B'' as a continuation of the then second level division. Vanspor A.Ş. was a football team of Van in eastern Turkey. History They played in the top division of Turkish football between 1994 and 1998, playing once more in 1999–2000 season. After relegation from the first division, Vanspor turned to an economic crisis and were relegated from the 2nd and 3rd divisions between 2000–2002. After relegation from the 3rd division in 2003, the club was renamed as İl Özel İdaresi Vanspor and played in Van Super Amateur.
