1995 Asian PGA Tour
The 1995 Asian PGA Tour, titled as the 1995 Omega Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the inaugural season of the Asian PGA Tour, one of the main professional golf tours in Asia (outside of Japan) alongside the long established Asia Golf Circuit. Omega title sponsorship In September, it was announced that the tour had signed a title sponsorship agreement with Omega SA, being renamed as the Omega Tour. The agreement was reported to be worth over three years. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 1995 season. Lin Keng-chi (, born 1 July 1966) is a Taiwanese professional golfer. Career Lin has won five tournaments on the Asian Tour and topped the Tour's money list in 1995. He has also played extensively on the Japan Golf Tour, where he had won three titles. In 2001 he reached the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings. Vijay Singh ( hif, विजय सिंह ; born 22 February 1963), nicknamed "The Big Fijian", is a Fijian professional golfer. He has won 34 events on the PGA Tour, including three major championships: one Masters title (2000) and two PGA Championships ( 1998, 2004). He is the first person of South Asian descent to win a major championship. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006. Singh reached world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking for 32 weeks in 2004 and 2005. Gerry Norquist
Gerry Norquist (born May 29, 1962) is an American professional golfer. Norquist was born in Portland, Oregon and turned professional relatively late at the age of 26. He played most of his tournament golf in Asia, predominantly on the Asian Tour where he won five titles, and later on the Japan Golf Tour. His five wins on the Asian Tour are the most for an American. His biggest win came in 1999 at the European Tour co-sanctioned Benson and Hedges Malaysian Open, which gave him a two-year exemption on that tour. Norquist maintained his links with the Asian Tour and was appointed senior vice president in 2006. He was active on the European Seniors Tour in 2012; playing in 14 events, making the cut 12 times.
