Indy Lights
Indy NXT, previously Indy Lights, is an American developmental automobile racing series sanctioned by IndyCar, currently known as Firestone Indy NXT Series for sponsorship reasons. Indy Lights is the highest step on the Road to Indy, a program of racing series leading up to the IndyCar Series. The Indy Lights series has been promoted by Anderson Promotions since 2014, which also manages the Road to Indy program. A similar series named Indy Lights filled the developmental role for the CART series, and ran from 1986 to 1993 as the American Racing Series and Dayton Indy Lights from 1991 to 2001. The current IndyCar sanctioned series was founded in 2002 as the Infiniti Pro Series as a way to introduce new talent to IndyCar, with the moniker Indy Lights returning in 2008 when CART and IndyCar unified. Pedro Chaves
Pedro António Matos Chaves (; born 27 February 1965) is a Portuguese racing driver. Chaves was the second Portuguese Formula Ford Champion, in 1986, starting an international career in 1987 in the British Formula Ford Championship. In 1990 he won the British F3000 Championship with the Madgwick Motorsport outfit, also racing in a few rounds of the FIA F3000 series. In , he suffered a disastrous season in Formula One, failing to pre-qualify for 13 Grands Prix with an under-financed and uncompetitive Coloni. After failing to pre-qualify for the Portuguese Grand Prix, Chaves left the team, taking the remainder of his sponsorship money with him. At the end of that year Chaves had an agreement with Leyton House (which would be renamed to March F1) to compete in , however the sponsorship money came too late, and Karl Wendlinger took the place. Nick Firestone
Nicholas Stanley Firestone (born March 31, 1966) is an American former race car driver. A great-grandson of Harvey Samuel Firestone (founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company) and Idabelle Smith Firestone, Idabelle Smith, grandson of Roger (1912–1970) and son of Peter, he graduated from Princeton University in 1989. Starting in Karts, he moved to junior formula cars and finally on the British Formula 3000, British Formula 2 Championship. He competed in 42 Indy Lights races from 1993 to 1996. His best finish was second at Nazareth Speedway and The Milwaukee Mile in 1993. He attempted to qualify for the 1999 Indianapolis 500, 1999 Indianapolis 500 for McCormack Motorsports but failed to make the field. He has now moved back to racing Karts. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Laguna Seca Raceway (branded as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and previously Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca) is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, built in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, United States. The racetrack is long, with a elevation change. Its eleven turns are highlighted by the circuit's signature turn, the downhill-plunging "Corkscrew" at Turns 8 and 8A. A variety of racing, exhibition, and entertainment events are held at the raceway, ranging from superkarts to sports car racing to music festivals. Nazareth Speedway
Nazareth Speedway was an auto racing facility near Nazareth in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania which operated from 1910 to 2004 in two distinct course configurations. In its early years, it was a dirt twin oval layout. In 1987 it was reopened as a paved tri-oval that measured just slightly under 1 mile. The facility is often linked to local drivers Mario and Michael Andretti's early racing careers. It was also associated with Frankie Schneider due to his large number of wins on the two dirt tracks. As of November 2015, the site was purchased by Raceway Properties LLC under David Jaindl. There are no current plans to return racing to the facility. Alex Padilla is a former American racing driver. Career He began his professional career in the Barber Saab Pro Series in 1992 and finished fourth in the championship. He also drove in the 24 Hours of Daytona for Alex Job Racing and finished 18th overall and 5th in class in a Porsche 911. In 1993 he captured 3 wins on his way to third place in the Barber Saab Pro Series. 1994 brought him to the Indy Lights series full-time (he had made his series debut in a one-off in 1992). Padilla won the pole in Vancouver and finished 7th in points. In 1995 Padilla could not secure a full-time ride after the first four races and competed in only 3 of the last 8 races but still managed to finish 11th in the championship. Molson Indy Vancouver was an annual Champ Car race held in a street circuit near BC Place and running past Science World in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada held in July, August or September from 1990 to 2004. On September 2, 1990, the first race took place on the original circuit, which was won by Al Unser Jr. From 1998, a new circuit was created to the east of the old Pacific Place, where only a small part of the original circuit was used. The circuit was popular with drivers and often produced an entertaining race.
