1993–94 Cypriot Third Division
The 1993–94 Cypriot Third Division was the 23rd season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Othellos Athienou FC won their 1st title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1993–94 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first team were promoted to 1994–95 Cypriot Second Division. The last five teams were relegated to the 1994–95 Cypriot Fourth Division. The 2nd-placed team faced the 9th-placed team of the 1993–94 Cypriot Second Division, in a two-legged relegation play-off for one spot in the 1994–95 Cypriot Second Division. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. 1993–94 Cypriot Cup
The 1993–94 Cypriot Cup was the 52nd edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 50 clubs entered the competition. It began on 1 December 1993 with the first preliminary round and concluded on 28 May 1994 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. Omonia won their 10th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Anorthosis 1–0 in the final after extra time. Format In the 1993–94 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division, the Cypriot Third Division and 8 of the 14 teams of the Cypriot Fourth Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In the preliminary round and in the first round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Apollon Limassol did not have a good enough average (Points per matches) in European Competitions over the previous five seasons (1989-90 until 1993-94) and therefore they were not allowed to enter the 1994–95 UEFA Champions League. ''O Phileleftheros'' ( el, Ὁ Φιλελεύθερος, meaning "The Liberal") is the largest newspaper (by circulation) in Cyprus, with about 26,000 copies daily (2002). Established in 1955, it is also the oldest Greek-language daily newspaper in circulation on the island. Doxa Katokopias FC ( el, Δόξα Κατωκοπιάς) is a Cypriot football team from Katokopia in the Nicosia District. Since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, Katokopia is under Turkish occupation, and the club moved to Peristerona, which is near Katokopia. Fotiakos Frenarou
Frenaros ( el, Φρέναρος; ) is a village in the Famagusta District of Cyprus. In 2011, it had a population of 4,298. History Frenaros was named after Lusignan monks called Fremenors, who lived in the nearby Panagia of Hortakion monastery. It has two churches that date back to the 12th century. In 1925, Swedish archeologist Einar Gjerstad uncovered evidence that the village dates back to the Neolithic period.
