1993 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship
The 1993 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 99th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board. The championship began on 13 August 1993 and ended on 7 November 1993. Glenmore entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were beaten by Fenians at the quarter-final stage. On 7 November 1993, Dicksboro won the championship after a 2–09 to 1–09 defeat of Fenians in the final at Nowlan Park. It was their fourth championship title overall and their first title since 1950. Adrian Ronan (5-12) and Billy Purcell (1-24) were the championship's joint-top scorers. Ray Heffernan (hurler)
Raymond Heffernan (born 26 January 1963) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Glenmore and was also a member of the Kilkenny senior hurling team. He usually lined out at midfield or as a forward. Career Heffernan first came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Glenmore club before eventually joining the club's top adult team. After junior and intermediate successes, he went on to win a total of five County Senior Championship titles and was team captain for the All-Ireland Club Championship success in 1991. Heffernan first appeared on the inter-county scene as part of the Kilkenny team that won the All-Ireland Minor Championship title in 1981, before later winning an All-Ireland Under-21 Championship title in 1984. His underage and club successes saw him drafted onto the Kilkenny senior hurling team alongside his brother Christy in 1984. Jamesie Brennan
Jamesie Brennan (born 7 December 1969) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Brennan made his first appearance for the team during the 1990-91 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1995 championship. An All-Ireland-winning captain in the under-21 grade, Brennan later won two All-Ireland medals and three Leinster medals at senior level. Erin's Own Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 1885 and since then has been the main sporting organization in the Castlecomer area in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Erin's Own fielded teams in 11 different grades of hurling and in 7 grades of gaelic football in 2006, and is currently undertaking major development at its new ground, Canon Kearns Park. Carrickshock GAA
Carrickshock is an Irish Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club was founded in 1928 when the teams from Hugginstown and Knockmoylan were amalgamated in commemoration of the Battle of Carrickshock, 1831.
