Memorial Stadium is the current home of the Indiana State Sycamores football and soccer section in Terre Haute, Indiana, United States. The stadium was renovated between 1967 and 1969; it was built to host professional minor league baseball; the Indiana State football team began playing there in 1949. Carbondale is a city in Jackson and Williamson Counties, Illinois, United States, within the Southern Illinois region informally known as "Little Egypt". McAndrew Stadium
McAndrew Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium in Carbondale, Illinois, United States. It opened in 1938 and was home to the Southern Illinois University Salukis football team, as well as the track team. It was replaced by Saluki Stadium in 2010. Originally built by the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression of the mid-1930s, it had a construction cost of $150,000, only seated 5,000 and was hailed as one of the most attractive stadiums in the Midwest. The first game at the stadium took place on October 1, 1938, a 27–0 loss to Southeast Missouri State. The 1993 Western Kentucky Hilltoppers football team represented Western Kentucky University as an independent during the 1993 NCAA Division I-AA football season. Led by fifth-year head Jack Harbaugh, the Hilltoppers compiled a record of 8–3. They missed the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship playoffs but finished the season ranked No. 19 in final NCAA Division I-AA poll. The Mid-America Classic is a long-standing American college football rivalry game played in most years since 1901 between the Panthers of Eastern Illinois University and the Redbirds of Illinois State University. The 2022 season marked the 110th meeting between the two teams with Illinois State's win extending their lead in the series to 59–42–9. History The rivalry between the two schools began in 1901 and is the oldest in the state of Illinois.
