1993 Copa Interamericana
The 1993 Copa Interamericana was the 15th. edition of the Copa Interamericana. The final was contested by Costa Rican team Deportivo Saprissa (winner of 1993 CONCACAF Champions' Cup) and Chilean club Universidad Católica (runner-up of 1993 Copa Libertadores so current champion São Paulo declined to participate). The final was played under a two-leg format in September–November 1994. The first leg was held in Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá in San José, where Saprissa defeat U. Católica 3–1. The second leg was played at Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo is a football stadium, in Las Condes in the metropolitan region of Santiago de Chile. Copa Interamericana
The Copa Interamericana ( en, Interamerican Cup) was an annual club football competition contested between a representative from North America (CONCACAF) and South America (CONMEBOL). Established in 1969, it was discontinued in 1998 after CONCACAF clubs, particularly those from Mexico, began participating in CONMEBOL competitions. The competition was intended to be contested between the winners of the North American CONCACAF Champions Cup and the South American Copa Libertadores tournaments, although the participants varied at times. The competition was usually contested over a two legged tie, with a playoff or penalty kicks if necessary. However, it was common for several consecutive editions to go unheld. Of the 18 competitions played out, four of them were contested over several matches in just one venue. Two others were held in a single match. Sergio Fabián Vázquez (born 23 November 1965 in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine footballer and a current football manager Playing career Vázquez played as a defender for a selection of club teams in Argentina and Chile. Carlos Linaris (born 1951) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Playing career When he became 17 years he began his career playing for Rampla Juniors in the first division of Uruguay. In the club of Montevideo played for four years. Evaristo Coronado Salas (born 13 September 1960) is considered the best Costa Rican football striker during the 1980s. Club career Born in Ciudad Cortés, Coronado is one of the most recognized sports figures in his country.
