1992–93 UEFA Champions League Preliminary Round
The 1992–93 UEFA Champions League preliminary round was the qualifying round for the 1992–93 UEFA Champions League, and featured eight teams. It began on 19 August with the first legs and ended on 2 September 1992 with the second legs. The four winners advanced to the first round, joining 28 other teams. Times are CEST (UTC+2), as listed by UEFA. Format Each tie was played over two legs, with each team playing one leg at home. The team that scored more goals on aggregate over the two legs advanced to the next round. If the aggregate score was level, the away goals rule was applied, i.e. the team that scored more goals away from home over the two legs advanced. If away goals were also equal, then extra time was played. The away goals rule would be again applied after extra time, i.e. if there were goals scored during extra time and the aggregate score was still level, the visiting team advanced by virtue of more away goals scored. The 1992–93 UEFA Champions League was the 38th European Cup, the premier European club football tournament, and the first season with the UEFA Champions League branding (originally adopted only in the group stage). It was the second season of the competition in which the eight second round winners would be split into two groups, with the winner of each one meeting in the final. In addition, a preliminary round was required as this was the first season after the break-up of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, resulting in many new countries eligible to enter the champions of their own leagues into the competition. Israel and the Faroe Islands were also represented for the first time. FC Norma Tallinn
Norma Tallinn is a now defunct Estonian football club. Norma Tallinn became the first Estonian champions after the Soviet Union collapse, they went on to defend their title next year, in 1993. Norma also won the Estonian Cup in 1994. The club was relegated to the second division in 1995 and to the third the following year. Norma Tallinn were dissolved after the 1996/1997 season. History Founded in 1959, Norma Tallinn was one of the biggest football clubs in Estonian SSR. Avi Cohen (footballer, Born 1962)
Avraham "Avi" Cohen (born 12 June 1962) is an Israeli former footballer who played as a right back. He is often referred as Avi Cohen II or Avi Cohen of Jerusalem to distinguish himself from the player of the same name, born in 1956. Career Cohen began his career at Beitar Jerusalem, initially as a striker, but moved back to the right back position. Because of this, he was noted for his attacking skills, and was one of the first players in Israel to adopt the style of the attacking defender. He left Beitar in 1985 to join Maccabi Sha'arayim, but returned a season later. He would remain there until the summer of 1989, where he was signed by Maccabi Tel Aviv. Lokomotiv Stadium (Tavriya) is a multi-purpose stadium in Simferopol, . It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches, and is the home of FC TSK Simferopol, and formerly SC Tavriya Simferopol. Padraig Dully (born 20 April 1965) is an Irish retired footballer who played during the 1980s and 1990s. Career Dully's career began with Athlone Town and he made his League of Ireland debut on 20 October 1985 at home to Cork City. His first League of Ireland goal came a fortnight later in a 1–0 home win over Shelbourne. In the 1989/90 season he finished as Athlone's top scorer with 10 league goals.
