Padraig Dully
Padraig Dully (born 20 April 1965) is an Irish retired footballer who played during the 1980s and 1990s. Career Dully's career began with Athlone Town and he made his League of Ireland debut on 20 October 1985 at home to Cork City. His first League of Ireland goal came a fortnight later in a 1–0 home win over Shelbourne. In the 1989/90 season he finished as Athlone's top scorer with 10 league goals. His impressive form earned him a move to Shelbourne in the close season of 1990, where he played the best football of his career. It was certainly the most rewarding period of his footballing travels. In 1992, he won the league with Shelbourne, beating Derry City in the title race. Dully scored against SC Tavriya Simferopol in the 1992-93 UEFA Champions League. Dully was man of the match in the 1993 FAI Cup final win and he played a full part in the dramatic play-offs in 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division as well. Athlone
Athlone (; ) is a town on the border of County Roscommon and County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located on the River Shannon near the southern shore of Lough Ree. It is the second most populous town in the Midlands Region with a population of 21,349 in the 2016 census. Cork City Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Chathair ChorcaÃ) is an Irish association football club based in Cork. The club was founded and elected to the League of Ireland in 1984. It was one of the first clubs in Ireland (and the first in Cork) to field a team of professional footballers. The Leinster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Leinster Football Association. It is currently contested by LFA affiliated League of Ireland clubs, Leinster Senior League Senior Division clubs and invited teams from the various LFA affiliated junior leagues. Aaron Callaghan (footballer Born 1966)
Aaron Joseph Callaghan (born 8 October 1966) is a football manager and retired player. He played in the Football League for Stoke City, Crewe Alexandra, Oldham Athletic and Preston North End. Playing career Callaghan was born in Dublin and began his career with English club Stoke City progressing through the youth ranks at the Victoria Ground and signed a professional contract in 1984. Stoke were having a woeful 1984–85 season and with the team already relegated Callaghan was given the chance to play First Division football playing in five matches towards the end of the season. He began the 1985–86 season on loan at Crewe Alexandra where he made 10 appearances. On his return to Stoke he played in eight matches under the management of Mick Mills. He made just three appearances for Stoke in 1986–87 and was sold to Oldham Athletic in October 1986. Glentoran Football Club is a professional football club that plays in the NIFL Premiership. The club was founded in 1882. History Early history In 1914, Glentoran won the Vienna Cup, becoming the first United Kingdom team to win a European trophy, although as this competition took place several decades before the formation of UEFA, it is not recognised as such. 1960s George Best watched Glentoran with his grandfather as a youth, but was rejected by the club for being "too small and light". However, Best did make one appearance for Glentoran, in the club's centenary match against Manchester United. In 1964–65, Glentoran faced Panathinaikos in the European Cup and drew 2–2 at home and lost 3–2 away.
