Volley Gonzaga Milano
Volley Gonzaga Milano or simply Gonzaga Milano was a male volleyball club from Milan, Italy. History The club was founded in 1973 as ''Volley Gonzaga'' from the merger of several clubs, including the internal private Institute "Gonzaga", then Italian champion in juniors, and ''CSI Milano'', who had played in Serie A in the fifties and sixties and that he had then moved its headquarters first in Vigevano and then to Pavia. The team debuted in the top division in the 1976–77 season, making his last appearance in 1995; in 1987 the team under the name Ener-Mix Milano (for sponsorship reasons) had won its first European title, the then called CEV Cup, won in the final against Santal Parma. Lorenzo Bernardi
Lorenzo Bernardi (born 11 August 1968) is an Italian professional volleyball coach and former player, a silver medallist at the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, two–time World Champion (1990, 1994), and a two–time European Champion ( 1989, 1995). Bernardi was elected best player of the 1994 World Championship and 1995 European Championship, and in 2001, the FIVB declared him to be the "Volleyball Player of the Century" with Karch Kiraly. Career Born in Trento, Bernardi started his long career in the 1980s as setter, but later was switched to hitter and passer. From 1985 he played with the Panini Modena club. Bernardi won the Italian championship nine times with Modena and with Sisley Treviso, which he played for from 1990 to 2001. FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship is an international men's club volleyball competition organised by the '' Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The competition was first contested in 1989 in Italy. It was not held between 1993 and 2008, but since 2009, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar and Brazil except in 2017 and 2018 where both hosted by Poland. The current format of the tournament involves eight teams competing for the title at venues within the host nation over a period of about one week; the winners of that year's AVC Club Volleyball Championship (Asia), African Clubs Championship (Africa), Men's South American Volleyball Club Championship (South America) and CEV Champions League (Europe), along with the host city's team and a nominated team from North America.
