1991 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 1991 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held from November 27 to December 2, 1990 in Budapest, Hungary. The event was sanctioned by the International Skating Union and open to ISU member nations. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of Single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Medal table Competition notes Due to the large number of participants, the men and ladies had to qualify to participate in short program and free skating. Reunified in 1990, Germany had a special arrangement in number of participants based on the results of West Germany and East Germany in 1990. Alexander Abt
Alexander "Sasha" Viktorovich Abt (russian: Александр "Саша" Викторович Абт; born October 22, 1976) is a Russian figure skater and coach. He is a two-time European medalist and placed fifth at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Career Abt's first experience with figure skating came at the age of six when his grandmother took him to a rink. Sergei Volkov coached him early on but he began suffering from cancer and sent Abt to be trained by Rafael Arutyunyan before he died. Soon after, Abt began to make a name for himself on the junior circuit and won the silver medal at the 1991 World Junior Championships. Abt underwent surgery for a knee problem early in his career. Mirko Müller
Mirko Müller (born 12 November 1974) is a German pair skater. His first partner was Jekatarina Silnitzkaja, and he later teamed up with Emilie Gras for a year. Müller found his greatest success when Peggy Schwarz became his partner in 1996. The pair went on to win three gold medals at the German Figure Skating Championships from 1998 to 2000. Gilberto Viadana (born 9 February 1973) is an Italian former figure skater. He reached the free skate at four European Championships, three World Championships, and two Winter Olympics (1992, 1998). Life and career Gilberto Viadana was born on 9 February 1973 in Milan, Italy. He placed 11th at the 1990 Junior Worlds in Colorado Springs, Colorado; 14th at the 1991 Junior Worlds in Budapest; and fifth at the 1992 Junior Worlds in Hull, Quebec. At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, Viadana placed 19th in the short program before withdrawing from the competition. He finished 23rd at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan. John Baldwin (figure Skater)
John Baldwin, Jr. (born October 18, 1973) is an American retired figure skater. With partner Rena Inoue, he is a two-time U.S. national champion. Inoue and Baldwin are the first skaters to perform a throw triple Axel in competition. Personal life Baldwin was born in Dallas, Texas. His parents were both skating coaches. His father, John Baldwin Sr., competed as a single skater in the 1960s. His brother Don Baldwin competed in singles as well. Baldwin attended Poway High School. He proposed to his skating partner Rena Inoue in January 2008. Their first daughter was born in November 2011 and the second four years later.
