The 1991 Sudirman Cup was the second tournament of the World Mixed Team Badminton Championships. It was held from April 30 to May 4, 1991 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Sudirman Cup
The Sudirman Cup is an international badminton mixed team competition contested by member countries of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1989. It used to be held at the same venue for the World Championships in the same year until the International Badminton Federation (now the BWF) decided to split the two tournaments starting from 2003. There are five matches in every Sudirman Cup tie which consists of men and women's singles, men and women's doubles and mixed doubles. The cup is named after Dick Sudirman, a former Indonesian badminton player and the founder of the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI). The current champion is China, which won its 12th title at the 2021 tournament in Finland. Zheng Yumin (, born 14 August 1967) is a former Chinese badminton player. Career Zheng Yumin, born in Fujian, is the younger brother of Zheng Yuli, a former top level player who won medals in World championships and World Cup. Yumin specialised in doubles. Thomas Lund
Thomas Haubro Lund (born 2 August 1968) is a retired badminton player from Denmark who affiliate with Kastrup Magleby club. Career Lund was one of the world's leading doubles specialists of the 1990s, particularly in mixed doubles. He was a silver medalist in both men's and mixed doubles at the 1991 IBF World Championships. In 1993 and 1995 he won consecutive gold medals in mixed doubles at the IBF World Championships, the first with Sweden's Catrine Bengtsson and the second with his compatriot Marlene Thomsen. From 1990 through 1994 Lund won five consecutive mixed doubles titles with three different partners at the now defunct World Badminton Grand Prix. At the prestigious All England Open he captured titles in both men's doubles (1993) and mixed doubles (1993, 1995). Lund was elected to the World Badminton Hall of Fame in 2008. Zhao Jianhua () (born 21 April 1965) is a Chinese former badminton player who competed internationally from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. He was admired for his speed and power as well as for his deception and technique. Career Zhao won the 1991 IBF World Championships in singles, beating Alan Budikusuma in the final. Erma Sulistianingsih (born 5 November 1965) is an Indonesian badminton player. A doubles specialist, Sulistianingsih competed in women's doubles with Rosiana Tendean at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Eddy Hartono Arbie (; born 19 July 1964) is an Indonesian former badminton player who excelled in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After a brief stint competing in singles, he soon became a doubles specialist noted for his deft racket control and fluent strokes. His two siblings, Hastomo and Hariyanto were world class shuttlers in men's singles. Career Hartono affiliated with PB Djarum since 1976. Ardy Bernardus Wiranata (born 10 February 1970) is an Indonesian former badminton player who rated among the top singles players in the world (several of whom were fellow Indonesians) during most of the 1990s. Lucia Francisca "Susi" Susanti Haditono (; born 11 February 1971) is an Indonesia retired badminton player. Relatively small of stature, she combined quick and graceful movement with elegant shotmaking technique, and is regarded by many as one of the greatest women's singles players of all time. She is the first Indonesian Olympic gold medalist. Career Susanti won the women's singles gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain and the bronze medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, United States.
