1991 Meath Senior Football Championship
The 1991 Meath Senior Football Championship is the 99th edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 15 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. This was Dunderry's return to the grade after claiming the 1990 Meath Intermediate Football Championship title. Navan O'Mahonys were the defending champions after they defeated Summerhill after a replay in the previous years final, however their quest for five titles in a row was ended by Walterstown at the semi-final stage. Gaeil Colmcille claimed their 1st S.F.C. title (since being formed from the Kilmainham, Drumnbaragh and Kells Harps clubs in 1966) when beating Walterstown 1-12 to 1-6 after a replay in the final at Pairc Tailteann on 3 November 1991. Meath Senior Football Championship
The Meath Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Meath, Ireland. Qualification for subsequent competitions The winners of the Meath Senior Football Championship winners qualify to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Competition format From 2020, 16 teams compete in the championship, with four groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The bottom two teams in each group progress to the relegation playoffs. The overall loser in the relegation playoffs gets relegated to the Intermediate Division. Pairc Tailteann
Park ( gd, A' Phàirc), also known as South Lochs, is a huge area of land connected to the rest of Lewis only by a narrow neck between Loch Seaforth and Loch Erisort. This had a wall called ''Gàrradh an Tighearna'' (''"The Laird's Dyke"'') built across it by the Earl of Seaforth in the early 17th century, the outline of which can still be seen. Only the north of Park is now inhabited: settlements in the south were cleared by Sir James Matheson in the nineteenth century. A famous deer raid took place here in 1887 as a demonstration by starving people, commemorated by a broch resembling a cairn at the Eishken junction. Aughrim County Ground, known for sponsorship reasons as Joule Park Aughrim, is a GAA stadium in Aughrim, County Wicklow, Ireland. Aughrim County Ground is the name of the home of Gaelic Games for County Wicklow (Gaelic football, Hurling, Camogie, Ladies Football) team. The ground has a capacity of about 7,000. The name "O'Byrne Park" was occasionally used in the past, but this has never been the official name: this mistake that came about because of the Irish name for the local village of Aughrim, "Aughrim of the O'Byrnes" (''Eachdhruim Uí Bhroin''). Seneschalstown GAA is a small rural Gaelic Athletic Association club from Beauparc/Kentstown parish in County Meath, founded in 1932. The club ground is situated about 6 miles east of Navan and 3 miles south of Slane. Skryne GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Village of Skryne, in County Meath, Ireland. The club mainly plays Gaelic Football. It competes in Meath GAA competitions. Skryne has the second most Meath Senior Football Championship titles after Navan O Mahony's. Every All-Ireland Winning Meath team has had a Skryne player as a panel member. Navan O'Mahony's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes in Meath competitions. With 20 Senior Football wins they are the most successful football club in Meath. The club has also won 2 Senior Hurling Championships placing them in the top 15 most successful hurling sides in the county. Trim GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Trim, in County Meath, Ireland. The club fields both Gaelic football and hurling teams. It competes in Meath GAA competitions. Trim is known as the home of hurling in Meath and the Meath Senior Hurling Championship final was held there each year until the redevelopment of its facilities meant it was moved to Pairc Tailteann. 2011 Football Relegation Trim finished at the bottom of Group A, with 3 points from 5 games and point difference of -30, the lowest of any team that year. Summerhill Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Summerhill in County Meath, Ireland. The team was first founded in 1905 but later disbanded. The current club was founded in 1931, and has since won 7 Meath Senior Football Championships. Summerhill is one of three Meath teams to have won the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. History Early history The first GAA club in Summerhill was founded in 1905, little is known about this team and is thought to have disbanded sometime around 1913 or 1914. After this, Summerhill had no local club and many players went to play for teams in nearby towns, mostly going to Bohermeen who were at that time the most prominent team in the county. Walterstown GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association football club based in & around the town of Navan, in County Meath, Ireland. The club plays Gaelic Football competing in Meath GAA & Leinster competitions. The 1991 Meath Intermediate Football Championship is the 65th edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for intermediate graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 20 teams. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. This year marked the first year of St. Ultan's existence since the formation of Intermediate club Martry Harps and Junior A club Bohermeen in January 1991. This was Simonstown Gaels' first appearance in the grade as they were promoted from the J.F.C. after claiming the 1990 Meath Junior Football Championship title, and they made it to the quarter-final, losing to eventual champions Ballinlough. On 10 November 1991, Ballinlough claimed their 2nd Intermediate championship title when they defeated St. Patrick's 1–9 to 0–11 in the final at Pairc Tailteann.
