1991 British Formula 3000 Championship
The 1991 British Formula 3000 Championship was the third season of the British Formula 3000 Championship. The series was won posthumously by Paul Warwick, driving for Mansell Madgwick Motorsport. He was tragically killed in an accident at Oulton Park when leading. Fredrik Ekblom finished as runner-up for AJS/GP. Julian Westwood finished third overall for CaneCordy Motorsport, a new team formed by ex-Williams personnel Michael Cane and Colin Cordy. Richard Dean was fourth with Superpower (pictured). Future International F3000 team Durango made their British F3000 debut. Kenny Brack, who would become 1996 International F3000 runner-up, 1998 IRL champion and a CART frontrunner, made a one-off appearance with the Alan Langridge team. 1991 International Formula 3000 Championship
The 1991 Formula 3000 International Championship was the seventh season of Formula 3000 in Europe. Christian Fittipaldi won the championship after ten rounds. Technical changes A major technical change for 1991 was the introduction by Avon of radial-ply tyres. Compared to the previous crossply tyres, these could be more consistently manufactured, and made the cars more consistent aerodynamically, but gave the drivers less control at high slip angles. Gary Ayles
Gary Ayles (born September 25, 1964) is a Racecar driver born in the United Kingdom. Ayles raced in the British F3 championship in the late 1980s before making the switch to touring car racing. He competed in the British Touring Car Championship in 1991 driving for Toyota alongside Andy Rouse, and filled in for one race in 1992. He was offered a drive with the factory Peugeot team in the Superturismo series as teammate to Fabrizio Giovanardi. In his three years with the team he finished runner up in the championship in 1992 to the Italian and scored several wins during his time in the series against such names as Gabriele Tarquini, Roberto Ravaglia and Emanuele Pirro. For 1995, he drove for the factory-backed Ferrari Club Italia team in the 1995 BPR Global GT Series, driving a Ferrari F40. Kenny Bräck
Kenny Bräck (born 21 March 1966) is a Swedish former race car driver. Until his retirement from racing, he competed in the CART, Indy Racing League and the IROC series. He won the 1998 Indy Racing League championship and the 1999 Indianapolis 500, becoming the first Swedish driver to win the race. He survived one of the racing sport's biggest crashes at Texas Motor Speedway in 2003, where he recorded the highest horizontal g-force ever survived by a human being at . José Luis Di Palma (born March 31, 1966), is an Argentine racing driver. He was born in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires province. Racing career Early career Di Palma began his professional career racing in the Argentine TC 2000 Championship in 1984. Tim Sugden (born 26 April 1964, in Bradford) is a British racing driver. He is both driver and manager for his own racing team, Tim Sugden Motorsport. Early career Sugden started racing in karting, where he became British champion. He soon moved up to Formula Ford 1600, winning the Star of Mallory series in 1987. Andrews began his professional career in Formula Ford then raced in the British Formula Three Championship in 1987 where he finished 18th.
